According to the Princess Cruise Blog the first of three new mega ships will be joining the Princess fleet in late 2035; followed by the second ship in 2038, and the final ship in 2039. The extended delivery timeline reflects the long term nature of cruise ship construction and aligns with Carnival Corporation’s phased approach to fleet expansion through the 2030s. The three Voyager Class cruise ships will be constructed at the Fincantieri’s shipyard in Monfalcone, Italy, and will be build on the existing Sphere Class platform while introducing updated ship design elements and new onboard concepts. Each ship will measure approximately 183,000 gross tons, and accommodate around 4,700 guests (which is bigger than the current Royal Class ships), and it will make this brand new class ship the highest capacity ships to ever be built for Princess Cruises. The vessels are also expected to feature reimagined outer decks, redesigned staterooms, and an updated Piazza layout, which remains a central hub across the entire Princess fleet.
