We are doing the Inside Passage & was wondering from all the cruise experts out there if $1200 per couple is worth the extra for a balcony? We are going at the end of Aug. & was also wondering if it is warm enough to sit out & enjoy the balcony especially with morning coffee.

We will be doing the Inside Passage on the Sapphire Princess next Aug. (yes, Aug. 2005 - sister in law is getting married on the ship). We are not sure which cabin to book? Inside either front or back or ship (it's the most inexpensive).
Also do alot of people take their kids on the Alaskan cruises - ours will be 9 & 13 & not sure if they would really appreciate the beauty.
Comments would be appreciated?
Thanks
My family is planning an Alaskan cruise next summer (sister wants to get married on the ship). We have a 9 & 12 year old. Do the cruises to Alaska have kids activities (we were on the Disney cruise ship a few years ago - WOW)!!
Suggestion on a good cruise line plus how to research all the different options, i.e. we want to stay with friends after the cruise for 3 to 4 days. Would that be an option? I guess maybe I should use a travel agent????
thanks
