  1. I'm back home after my first cruise. Did have a wonderful time, and as you have all said, much too short. Actually the Disney part of my vacation after the cruise was cut short. My best friends that I traveled with own a trash business and her nephew was tragically killed while dumping a container. We were called yesterday shortly after it happened and made arrangements immediatley to get home. We were staying at the Polynesien resort and did enjoy the few hours we were there. I am just glad we had already cruised, although after walking through Epcot Thurday, I was wishing the cruise was on the end of our "vacation". I guess I will review the cruise on the Review topic board. I will do that soon. And yes, I am hooked!! What a wonderful thing this cruisin is. Now, Im gonna go visit the grandbabies..Nanapinky
  2. [/size] I'm leaving early tomorrow to fly to Orlando and ship out Sunday on the Sensation, my very 1st cruise!! Then on to Disney. Thanks for all the tips on this site. The packing list was great. "See ya" the first part of May. Im gonna miss my twin grandkids (22 mos). First time not seeing them for this length of time, but they will love the surprises NaNa brings back from Disney !! Later.. Nanapinky
  3. Forgot to mention, this is a "new" excursion on carnivals site. I think very new, since I dont remember it being on the site when we first booked, but maybe I missed it. I will be sure and let you know how it is. I dont know if I will participate in the games, (tug-a-war, limbo, volleyball etc) cuz should I go down.....I probably will be down for the count. It will still be loads of fun...
  4. So, has anyone ever gone to the Junkanoo Beach Club in Freeport ? Since I heard there is not much to do in Freeport, we have decided to do this. Sounds like its a big ole beach party. I want to enjoy a sandy beach and the ocean...and booze
  5. Thanks for the info. I think I will go look for the Squid. With 2 other adults traveling with camera docks, chargers etc, I also didnt think about the oversized plug. Things are falling into place for my cruise. i got my passport today. I had called last Friday to find out if they could speed it up since I was leaving in 2 wks and they put a rush on it. Last night checked the site and it said it was to be expected on Tues and it got here today. Ordered mine on 2-7-07. Whose knows how much longer it would of taken if I was not leaving soon. Since I didnt know i was going on a cruise until a few days before, I think I got it in just before the deluge of applications. Anyway.....now the "fun" part, trying to pack. Thanks again for the info.
  6. I have heard folks say to bring a power strip or ext cord since there is only one plug in the room and we all have so many electric items... Do anyone know if the outlets in the cabins on the cruiseships are the 3 prong or just the 2 prong. I would hate to bring my 3 prong strip and not be able to use it. I will be on carnival sensation if that matters any. Thanks
  7. I'm leaving on my cruise in 10 days on the Carnival Sensation. I know you must use the Sign and Sail card on the ship, but are they able to cash travelers checks also and is there any extra charge? I'm not talking that much. Our party is going to continue on to Disney World after the curise and definitely will need some cash. Thanks
  8. Just wondering, if anyone has been to Nassau, how the bathroom facilities are? Are they easy to find or only in the bars and restaurants or are their public ones?
  9. Thanks for welcoming me to the board. Im going on my first cruise on April 22 on Carnival Sensation to the Bahamas. I am going with one of my best girlfriends, her daughter and her 2 grandchildren. We have vacationed together before, but never on a cruise although they have been before. I dont know what to expect. They didnt have any rooms to fit 5 of us (with a crib) so they bumped us to a penthouse suite. After reading posts in other boards, dont want to be labeled a VIP snob...This might be the only cruise I will be going on for a while, so Im taking full advantage of it. Have any of you cruised on the Sensation lately and what were your thoughts. Still trying to decide on excursions in Nassau. I guess we are going to dolphin encounter. So what cruise line do most of you cruise on? Thanks for any answers or suggestions in advance. I am sure I will have many more questions. Nanapinky
