Hi, Has anyone taken the 14-day cruise on Diamond Princess from LA to Hawaii? We're going on Oct 4 and would liek some information on the following: 1) Were there enough activities during the day to keep you busy (especially during the at sea days)? 2) Was there a self-serve laundromatte service available? How much does it cost? 3) How were the shore excursions? Expensive, good value for money? 4) How's the food ? 5) How's the service? Thanks, Cambie

We're taking a 14-day cruise to Hawaii, starting from LA, doing island hopping. I'd like to know how far away is the pier from some of the major tourist sites? is it absolutely necessary to join the excusions to do sight seeing or is it ok to go on your own?
