  1. Hello again...man this board is hoping!! Per your request...a little about us... My wife's name is Amy. We will be celebrating our 3rd Wedding Anniversary on Nov. 22nd (we've been together around 11 years). We are in our mid to late thirties...I'm the older one (just south of 40). I am a sales manager for an air conditioning and heating company and Amy is a licensed insurance agent who works for a firm specializing in insurance for associations. We live in Gaithersburg Maryland which is just outside of Washington DC. Amy and I both enjoy travelling internationally and also love cruising (especially on Celebrity). Of all the ports we will be visiting the only one we have been to is Barcelona (I think in 1998). We are arriving on 10-28 and are staying at the Hotel 1898 which is located on Las Ramblas. Both of us are really looking forward to this trip and all the great ports of call. Amy is really looking forward to basket after basket of the Celebrity breadsticks. I'm looking forward to sitting on my balcony and smoking one Cuban cigar after another. The other couple traveling with us is Howard and Gloria. They are staying in a CC cabin (not sure which one). Howard and I are in a poker group that has been playing together for about 13 years. Hopefully a couple of people on this board like playing poker and we can get a game together. I'm really looking forward to meeting everybody. Andrew ps. I've started my "cruse diet" today so I can fit into the smaller of my Tuxedo's. I'm planning to drop about 50 pounds by time the plane takes off for Barcelona. Hopefully if I share my diet plans I'll be able to stick to it.
  2. Hello!! I posted this on x's board but it appears this board is a little more active. Lots of posts here...will probably take a lot of time to read them all. Thanks to Diane for alerting me of this board. Well here's my post... I've been reading the posts on this board (x) since March when I booked the cruise...lots of great posts and information. Because of work and scheduling issues I was not certain I would be able to make the cruise. However, it is now looking almost 100% so I feel comfortable joining the group. If I don't post too often or it takes a little time for me to respond please forgive me as the summer is my busy season. I sell air conditioning and live in the Washington DC area..very hot and humid. This will be our first European cruise and we (my wife and I) are really excited. I just can't believe how little we paid for such a great cruise on a great ship. It was such a good deal we convinced another couple to come along...so there will be four in our group. We are in cabin 6048 and our friends are in a CC cabin. We are trying to decide which ports we want to do with private tours and which we want to do on our own. We are thinking about private tours for Rome and one other (probably Naples). After reading the posts it looks like we can easily do most of the ports ourselves. I have already registered for the CC Party and it looks like it put us over the top. As an FYI...we are staying at the 1898 Hotel on Las Ramblas and are arriving around 5pm on Saturday. I look forward to reading more great posts and meeting everyone at the party. Andrew
