  1. I've decided to rent a tux on our Caribbean cruise on board the Dawn Princess. But I'm a little wary of ordering online or over the phone. I'm worried that the tux may arrive not fitting properly. If that were to happen, can alterations be made on board the ship? Is the price for the whole cruise or just one night? Comments?
  2. I couldn't switch to second seating but I did get Personal Choice. I figure if we don't like it we can always ask the Maitre D'.
  3. We had initially booked a first seating but opted for the second seating. Now my TA says its not available but we would be put on a waiting list. We would really much prefer the second seating. And we figured that 2 months prior to sailing wopuld sufficient time to switch. Does anyone know a way of contacting Princess prior to the cruise? Can I change my seating on their online Personaliser? Comments? Suggestions? Grazie!
  4. Sorry Skipper but the name of my ship is just below my message and the calendar gives you an idea of when I'm leaving. We're ready as far as personal documents. It's just that we've never booked a trip so far in advance. But we do have to thank all the posters here at Cruise Crazies for their much appreciated opinions and advice.

  6. It's my first cruise and I'm going bonkers just waiting. How do you guys do it? BTW The reason for this cruise is our 25th Wedding Anniversary and it's tomorrow.

  8. Hi all...just read about a mishap in Victoria with the Diamond Princess. A lot of nasty things said about the Princess Lines. Anybody hear of it and any comments?
  9. Anybody have that problem? How do you avoid it? Are there any precautions to take before boarding.
  10. Has anybody sailed on Halloween? We're sailing from the 24th October to the 3rd November and since we'll be on board on Halloween, can we expect a costume party? Hope so!
  11. I got a hold of my TA and changed the seating. No problem. Apparently according to him I'm up there with about 75% who prefer the 2nd seating. We plan to spend as much time ashore as possible and stay up as late as we can aboard the ship.
  12. Thanks for the fast response. Since you guys are regular cruisers, is my friend right in that it would be more advantageous fo us to take the second seating so we could enjoy the excusions. And a second question, would it be possible to change the seating before we sail.
  13. Since this will be my first time sailing, I asked around for what would be the best for supper times. Most of my freinds and family that have been on a cruise agreed that the first sitting would be the best. But this past weekend I spent some time with an old friend and he insisted that I change our seating to the second. When you think about it, it does make some sense. If you go ashore on excursions, most of them last up to 5 or 6 PM. If we were to take advantage of the excusions and have a first sitting then we would have to hurry back to the ship for our eating arrangements and possiblly miss out on a lot of things. Comment please
  14. Unfortunately there are still some Americans who would rather have a war monger such as Bush in office then Kerry and his "questionable" service record. I've been on a few forums where us Canadians are not only despised but hated for our stance on the war. Try explaining Bush's motives to the parents of those men and women lost because Bush Junior wanted to finish of Bush Senior's mistakes.
  15. Sorry about the vague title but this has got to be the first time I've ever booked a trip so far in advance. Aren't last minute bookings the way to get a better price?
  16. I know this question has probably been asked a million times before, but please bear with me....I'm a frist time cruiser. My wife has a rather elegant gown which she would like to bring on the cruise. I'll be bringing a dark grey suit. She feels it might be a tad too dressy. Comments?
  17. How high up can a cabin upgrade go. Is it possible to be bumped from an interior cabin to an outside one. Although it's our first cruise and everybody is telling me that the cabin location need not necessarily be important, I wouldn't mind having my own balcony or at least a window. ....sailing...takes me away.....
  18. Thanks...I hope this works
  19. Thank you all for the marvelous responses....and for those who asked...Montreal, Quebec....now someone tell how to enter the running calendar till we sail off..... 126 days...3 hours....
  20. Hi all.. First time on a cruise and hopefully not our last. The wife and I are celebrating our 25th anniversary aboard the Dawn Pricess on a 10 day Caribbean cruise sailing out of Florida on the 24th of October. We were told by friends and family who've sailed before that the basic cabin would suffice and free upgrades are very common. Aside from the Princess website-style pictrues of this type of cabin, I can't seem to find any other picture anywhere. Can anyone offer some sort of review of the Dawn Princess and pictures of the cabins or for that matter any type of feedback would be appreciated. BTW we're Canadians if that helps.
