  1. The good news is since I have been to the ports so many times, I don't go crazy shopping for souvenirs like I used to. We get good buys on Liquor in NH (no tax) so usually we don't even bother with that anymore. I do like to buy local coffee; Jamaica, Costa Rica and Panama were great. I still have unopened bags, as it is so strong we have to be in the mood. bon Voyage
  2. Adam sorry to learn of your step mother's passing. Computer problems are a real pain too. When we have no computer access, it is like our lifeline is cut off. Selena and BonBon, I too am a shop-a-holic. My favorite saying is Shop till You Drop. Even shopping on-line can be dangerous for me. I have made a vow not to shop at the Mall during January & February, so I can get the Christmas shopping bills paid off. Next birthday in the family is the end of February and that grandchild doesn't like clothes. I plan to take her shopping this year for music or Game Boy type games. Have a great day. Nanatravel
  3. Janet, glad you are OK. Black Ice is so dangerous. When the roads are clear, we often forget about dropping temperatures and how a patch can freeze quickly and become such a danger. It is sunny here but so cold. We will probably have some of the same patches tonight. DH and Son will both be driving tonight too. Think Spring!
  4. Hi to all. Janet, that style hat is the old Truck Driver high lid with plastic tab and netting in the back. They can't give that style away any longer. Todays caps are all cotton with a lower lid and shorter brim with an adjustable tab, that can be worn by men and women, too. Nice thought. Check out the crusie crazies logo hats. What I am referring to is similar to the all white hat @ $13.99 vs. the trucker hat that is Blue. Have a great week. Bon Voyage
  5. Thanks Tammy for the tours link. I am always trying to find something new to do at port. Just read more detailed info about luggage/pier side airport check-in at Miami. AA is offering it for flights scheduled to leave after 1 p.m. This may help sway my airline flight choice. AA is just a little more expensive non-stop into MIA than Song is into FLL. The savings would really add up in transportation costs. The downside is flying from Boston. The early morning commute isn't bad but the return trip is always a challenge for us. Have a great day. Snow has stopped.
  6. Me tooo Janet. At least the sun is shining and my mom wasn't too aggrevated today at the nursing home. Tommy, good choice of cruise ship for Europe. We did our Europe cruise on Millie during her inaugration: Captain's Club Reunion cruise. Don't worry about what type of cabin you choose, you won't be on the ship much at all other than to sleep and eat dinner. I would love to go to Europe again to Venice, Barcelona and Greece but I want to go on a different ship. We've been on Millie Twice. Its a very busy port intensive vacation. Bon Voyage
  7. Good Morning Freedom family. It's snowing again in NH, so it will mean another day doing Housework! Oh, those Dell prices sound great for your Dad. You are sure lucky that he has the mind to learn and use a computer. My mom's increased dimentia at 86 yrs old, is so hard to live with. She still knows me but doesn't realize that she is sick inside. Have a great day. Nanatravel
  8. Good Nite All. <] That is good news that Ty is on-board. Well its off to bed for me, too. Nanatravel
  9. The list has been updated. Joyce confirms she is sailing but doesn't want to give her cabin number. I respect that of anyone. In all the time I have been doing similar lists, I have had only one phone call in my cabin. Yes, it did wake us up! I have 38 cabins listed. Does anyone know: Tmt9367 in 7608 Kim in 8329 GOH in 8685 Vegas in 8712 that is all the information I have on them. As we continue, don't hesitate to add your name and state by dropping a note to nanatravel at comcast dot net. I have included web name, real first names, cabin numbers, seating, pre-cruise hotel and email address on my list. Pebbles 2000 are you also MsTermadiddy? Or am I confused again? Bev
  10. Term, in case you are on-board: Thanks for the cabin list. I had gathered much more than that but was missing about 3 names/cabins. Sorry to learn that Tyron is definelty not cruising with us as well as Adam, Ed & Penny. I know Mickiecruzer doesn't think they will be able to go, but I don't believe they have contacted the TA to cancel yet. You never know they could win the lottery.... To anyone, Do you know if JUDY and Edielik have cabin assignments? They are on one of my lists that I copied from the cruise forums but there are no cabin numbers. Oh, is Judy #9553? You just gave me that one, Term. I have thirty-three cabins/names on my list so far. Have a great week. I should make supper now. Bon Voyage
  11. Good Morning Freedom family. I sent this email note last night to those for whom I had an e-addie. Everyone is welcome to participate, but it is strictly optional. As part of the Reunion Group from the Mariner who will sail on the Freedom of the Seas, we had a great State gift swap in 2004 with Christmas or just hanging ornaments. We were talking on line, how just looking at our gifts hanging on our Christmas trees from people we met on board, brings back some great memories. Would you like to plan on doing a Christmas/holiday ornament swap on our 2006 Freedom cruise? This is a great week to get out there and buy an ornament at a sale price. I know when I look at the Mukluks (sic?) from Alaska and specially made map of Maryland, I think of Bunti & Rocky (Alaska) and Marlyn and her family (MD). If you wish to participate and it is strictly optional, each person brings one ornament which represents their state of residence. If you are part of a couple or family, each member can bring an ornament. You give one and get to pick one at a select place and time on board ship. On the Mariner we did it at the Meet and Mingle. It is reasonable and a lot of fun. You really get to know one another also. We sure hope you agree that this will be a fun thing to do on our Freedom of the Seas cruise. Bon Voyage Bev aka Nanatravel
  12. Tommy I thought you said that storm wasn't due until Thursday! That means New England may get it on Thursday! Ugh - not a good thing. Already the parking lots don't have enough room with mounds of snow and no where to put it. Its cold in the single digits but the sun is shining. I finished reading chesterh's book last night. It was much better than reading a chapter at a time on line. I am sure What time is the Midnight Buffet will be the first of many books for him. Have a great day.
