We have to respectfully disagree with you on this point Jan. There’s no way we could wait that long to book our next cruise without major withdrawal. We need to have at least our NEXT, next cruise booked before we sail! We've fully embraced our addiction to cruising and freely admit that the main reason we work is to support the habit!

Hi David! Yep, you’re hooked all right! We went on our first cruise in 1996; today we’ve been on 64 and have the next 4 booked so we definitely recognize the symptoms! Even with all our cruising we still desperately need to live vicariously through the cruises of others in between our own sailings, so please come back often to share your stories and your future plans. So many cruises, so little time!

You’re right David, it’s almost like you were “punished” for taking longer cruises. I never really gave it much thought because we were “grandfathered” as Diamond when they made the change due to the number of cruises we’d been on, but a lot of our early cruises were 2, 3 or 4 nights long so we probably had an advantage in the conversion versus the number of nights we’d actually sailed at the time. They probably can’t do much, but it wouldn’t hurt to politely mention your frustration to the Loyalty Ambassador next time you’re on board (or every time you’re on board). You never know when you’ll get the right person who’s sympathetic to your situation. Happy cruising!

Since we tend to make plans pretty far out, this works for us. It’ll be nice knowing we got the best deal and not have to keep checking if something better has come up.

Looks very nice – we’ll definitely keep this in mind when we finally get to that side of the world!

We’d love to Joey, but we’ll be stuck at work after our Northern European cruise a couple weeks earlier. We’d love to hear all about your Carnival Magic cruise when you get back! Safe travels and happy cruising!
