The Pride of America the new NCL ship has been damaged and is sitting on the bottom pier side in Germany. It is above water due to water depth but has some serious damage. They are talking about it on other boards and it is mentioned on the NCL web site.

I am not a person who cares for foods with a lot of the sauce or more upscale ways of making things so I wind up eating a lot of the steaks on a cruise. I would like to see more plain foods on the menu something like ham. I know they have ham for breakfast so one night on the plain part of the menu at night would be nice. JMHO

After taking care of the animals when we get through the door we take out the gifts for the kids and grandkids because we know they will be knocking on the door soon looking for what we got them.

I can see where they will have trouble finding enough people from Hawaii to work the ships but they should be able to fill them from the mainland. The Independence was a smaller ship but I cruised on her twice and did a lot of talking with the crew. One waiter told me he averaged $1000 a week in tips plus his regular pay. They did get their room, food and clothes for working. This does come out to more than minimum wage for at least that position. True they will have to pay taxes and work long hours but for someone between jobs or not sure what they want to do I would think it is a good chance at making some money. May not be a good job for a family person but good for someone single.

Yes I have repeated a cruise ship other than on a back to back. I repeated going on the Independence. I loved cruising on her the first time and loved cruising on her the second time. She had been changed some between the two sailings but it in noway changed the experience. I would gladly cruise on the Independence again if she ever sails again. I would gladly go on the Norway again if it gets fixed.

It would depend on the cruise line. When I was on the Independence they had a crab salad that was great. The Princess cruises I have been on the Pheasant was my favorite. On Carnival the Lamb was among my favorites. Celebrity I never found a meal that impressed me and the same goes for NCL.

I guess the only thing I miss on a cruise is the types of food I get at home that are not available on a cruise. I enjoy gyro's and Brats. I enjoy some good potato sausage. I don't find these on a cruise. I also enjoy eating stew which I have not found on a cruise yet. I also know many people brag about pizza on a cruise but I have never found pizza on a ship that is anywhere close to being as good as at home, so I do miss they type of pizza I am use to. I have had some good and some interesting meals on a cruise but I still enjoy the food back home better.

I never plan anything specific during the day on a cruise. If I do not want to do anything that is what I do. Sometimes I will go join in some of the basketball or volleyball games. Sometimes I just find people to talk with. Other times I might just explore the ships to see what things I can find that I normally wouldn't bother with. It just all depends on what I feel like on any given day.

I believe that Lynch was offered the opportunity because she has been given the majority of the publicity, not by her choice of course. One thing that does impress me about Lynch is the fact that she told the truth when interviewed about what she remembers that happened. She admitted that much of the publicity was all hype by the news media and military. There are many military personel that may deserve to be asked to be the godmother of this ship but Lynch was offered the opportunity and I do not blame her for accepting. She may not be what the news media tried to make her out to be but she had the nerve to join the service and go into harms way. You have a couple of choices to try. You can try to see if there is another cruise that would coincide with your flight dates. If you can't find a cruise to go along with the flight dates perhaps a hotel to stay at and do a land trip. You can see if the airlines would let you change the dates of your flights, there may be a fee if they do allow it. Or you will just be stuck for the price of the air tickets.
