  1. I was wondering how you go about getting an upgrade? Does the travel agent offer them or does that come Carnival?
  2. Have any of you used Vacations to Go to book your cruise. I have noticed that thier prices are a little lower than what my travel agent quoted. How is thier service and are they reliable? Any particular agent that you are fond of?
  3. This question is for the more experienced cruisers. I am trying to decide on which of these three ships and their itenearies would be the best for a couple of 50 yr old (young at heart) ladies. I cruised out of Jacksonville FL on Carnival in 2006 and was wondering if the bigger ships has more to do. I have been to the Bahamas several times and was sorta wondering about mexico. We are game for just about anything.
  4. I am planning a cruise leaving out of Charleston SC in Oct. 2012. Are the ships crowded during Oct. I would think most kids wuld be in school during that time. I will be cruising with a group ofr 40 something ladies. Also, what is your favorite feature on Fantasy?
  5. Thanks Y'all, I am posting this at 1:13 AM. Just finished packing and wanted to check the site one more time. We leave about 10:00 AM to head to Jacksonville so we can board Saturday. Excited is not the word!! I will give a review when I get back. Thanks and see ya later.
  6. Can someone tell me if the ship provides the large beach towels or should I carry my own.
  7. I just wanted to let some of you know that when I heard Carnival was cutting fares, I called my TA. I had previously paid in full my balance on my 6-17-06 cruise. When I went on the Carnival website I discovered that the rooms that I had paid for had become cheaper. My TA was able to call the company and get me a 180.00 ship credit. Yeah!! I hope this info helps some of you get a credit or save on your next cruise.
  8. I agree with Jeff. I live about 50 miles from the NC coast. We have had several bad hurricanes here and each time the millionaires who own beach front property build back bigger and better, thanks to FEMA assistance, at our expense. Then to add insult to injury, they whine about taxpayers not wanting to pay for renourishment projects, to build back the sand dunes to keep their houses standing. Now some of the beachfront residents are trying to get local laws passed so that they own the beach all the way to the water and us taxpayers can't use "THEIR" beach. How do you like that? I have always tried to be a compassionate person, but this is just a slap in the face.
  9. Several years ago I went to NY city with a group of hairdressers for a hair show and met Anthony Clark of " YES DEAR" (the preppy dad) at Carolines Comedy Club . He was still doing stand-up comedy and wasn't real famous, but I recognized him. My friends didn't know who he was and he and I had a real good laugh about it. He is from Kentucky I believe, and I from North Carolina so needless to say we were the only southerners in the joint. The local yankees kept asking us to say different things to hear our southern twang. Each time I watch his show I think of my run in with him and how most stars really want to be treated like normal people. (I did say MOST stars, There are some real DIVAS out there).
  10. I booked my families carnival cruise 14 months in advance and have been watching to see if I will get a better deal than the early booking. I got a free upgrade for the same price. My TA says that booking early generally gets you the best price. Do most of you agree. I have an outside room w/ocenview and my kids are across the hall with an inside cabin. What your thoughts on this?
  11. If your son gets seasick and can't take a pill you might think about contacting your DR. He cangive you a patch (like a small bandaid) to wear on your neck near the back of your ear. A friend of mine uses these when we go diving. Hope this helps,

  13. I went to Freeport about ten yrs. ago so I don't know if things have changed, but the straw market is nice, and there were a number of beach excursions that were a blast.
