Awesome Gail, just what I was looking for. What are your plans at VF - will you be going to a number of towns? -

These are timetables... I was looking for "where one get's on the bus" - when I was there last I don't remember seeing the bus station, I did see the train station though. -

Gail, where do you get on the bus in VF - Tony & I could also possibly interested in taking it to Nice. Which website have you been using to do your research? -
Nevada, just another thought. On Celebrity you can order of the diningroom menu in your cabin, at dinner time. They will bring EVERYTHING you want and set it out on your table in the cabin or on your verandah, we love doing this in Europe because we've been so busy during the day in port that we prefer the quiet of our balcony and the sound of the sea.

Gail are you booked Concierge Class? If so, you get priority tendering. -
Hi Nevada, it's so great that you've joined us Crazies! I fully understand your situation - why don't you just book a table for two in the diningroom? If you do book a larger table, you could book and table for 6 or 8 - that way when you're not there everyone else has each other to chat to. The only problem would be a table for 4 - the other couple would then be on their own. We like to book a table for 6 or 8 and then we skip about half of the dinners and eat elsewhere on the ship those nights - hey cruising is so flexible, whatever suits you!!!

Tonia.... either. I also saw beautiful Cameo's in Venice, so I guess the answer would be anywhere in Italy. We didn't spend anytime in Naples itself... we went on the tour down the Amalfi Coast - so I'm not sure precisely what is available in Naples, but it's a big city so you know they'll have them. -
Hey Nevada, welcome to cruise crazies - come join us and post often!!!

Kareen, yep relatively close!!! Don't think island style close. Also it depends which part of the dock they have us docked at. Last time we were far down the dock. -

Gail we have a few faves: Cafe Milano listening to musicians in the evening. Cosmos, faces the bow of the ship, quiet during the day to curl up with a book and wonderful view of the sea. Spa cafe area at the T-Pool is another great little hideaway. And then our secret........ the rear deck behind the Ocean Grill during sailaway with live musicians!!! When we left Athens I must say it was magical. Everyone that has Aft cabins actually you don't need to go up there because we are just below this area and can sit on our balconies listening to these musicians loud and clear with the same ambience! -
Hey Mo, You can't go wrong with Joey's advice. I'd like to add: Having cruised most of the cruise lines - Royal Caribbean certainly has positioned themselves well as a family cruise line. Lots for the children to do, especiqally if they like sporty events. All cruise lines cater to children, just some have made it their major thrust. You know when the kids are happy the whole family is happy  Another thing about RCCL and also Carnival, both have good prices - although there are always special offers made by ALL the cruise lines, Princess often has amazing offers. Many people have started their cruising careers with Carnival because their prices are always pretty good. So as Joey has already said each cruiseline offers a different slant - all are good. Also check on the individual websites for the size of the cabin, this will be very important for you having 4 people in it. Disney (more expensive) has a great cabin for the family and their toilet and bath are 2 seperate rooms! We are blessed in that we live in Florida where cruising seems to be everyone's favorite pasttime, therefore all our Cruise Travel Agents (Travel Agents that ONLY do cruises) are good and know how to find you the best deals. Also the service is superb! Yes the week between Christmas and New Year books up really fast and is way more expensive. We have cruised many times the first week of January when the prices dip again! No cruise is a bad cruise and there are so many options out there. You know what we like to do, go to a travel agent and ask for each cruiselines book for the Caribbean and then sit and devour all your options, lots of fun for the family!!!

Margaret which date are you departing the Locando? Yes Joey it was great chatting with you. Hopefully others will join in next time. Gail... yes unfortunately the port is pretty industrial - this seems to be the trend in the Med...... the only ports that were pretty decent were Athens and Venice. -

Yes Joey...you can leave the ship again, only one small hitch - nothing is really in walking distance. You'll have to pay 2 taxi fares - one into town and one back again. Why not board a little later and do everything you want to do in Barcelona before boarding? -

Yes - the strangest thing is we were the first couple up there to have our picture taken. Actually it was waaaay our best pic of the cruise - it also beats the same old backgrounds - you know most of us have dozens of cruise proffesional pics. This was unique. What do you all think about - the time to embark? I'm sure those that haven't been to Barcelona are wanting to squeeze out every possible moment in this awesome city. Talking of Barcelona.....you guys MUST go to the Boqueria market on Las Ramblas. The fresh foods etc are unbelievable, (you can start your olice oil collection here also your wine collection here ). Also if you're tired and need a rest there are little tapas bars around the edge (inside) we sat and enjoyed the wine and tapas so much we didn't want to leave!!! Great vibe. -

You know I have no idea if it's complete or not they said it was a few years project but don't know when they began. It truly is an awe inspiring building - and you know what, when we got up there after the long steep climb wheeew, there was the X photographer from onboard taking pictures of any cruiser that wanted their picture in front of the Acropolis - how cool is that? I didn't think they ventured further than the gangplank  -
Welcome Snowbird....you've come to the right place - come get to know us!

Another reply - about Athens. The Arcropolis and surrounding ruins are stunning, except when we went we couldn't get a decent photo, virtually the entire structure was covered in scaffolding for restoration!! So having been there I would agree with Joey about Athens. I'm sorry we're not going to Mykonos this time, we loved it!! -

Hmmmmm...having done this itinerary before I would go with Tonia, Dubrovnik. It is beautiful to look at from the ship but was a huge disappointment to us, this time we view it as an additional day of leisure. I would definitely not miss Villefranche!!!!
