Joey... good to have you back. Actually it's not only on CC that you can write things on the menu - even standard class we've written on the menu in the past and they've delivered in the morning, including Eggs Benedict! But I was fascinated that this seperate CC menu actually has Smoothies on it - AND YOU DON"T HAVE TO PAY EXTRA   Surely it costs more that a Cappucino - why do we pay for those? -
We were on the CB in November last year and love her. I prefer small ships but couldn't fault anything on her. The food was excellent, our mini-suite was superb, service outstanding - the shows were good (have seen better) the comedian was outstanding. Loved the Movies under the Stars!

Joey - hope everything is going OK at home. You and David are in our thoughts and prayers. (Miss your chirpy personality on this board!!!) -
The last time we flew in/out of Gatwick we had miles of people movers and corridors to walk - I thought it was a nightmare considering I had a back problem at the time which realy compounds it! Sorry Gatwick was definitely not anywhere near one of favorite airports!!!

Yes from what I've read the Med has a winter rainy season. We'll be on the "edge" of that - so we could experience some rain. Joey yes altitude has everything to do with the climate, but New York and Barcelona are both at sea level. -
Welcome, welcome Lurrutia... this is a great place to hang out, enjoy being a part!

Do you guys realize that Barcelona is virtually on the same latitude as New york - Does that mean the weather will be pretty much the same??? I know topographical stuff needs to also be taken into account so it would be exactly the same but........ anyhow just thought you might like to know, for what it's worth. -
Dan, we were on a code shared flight from Cape Town to Tampa. In Cape Town they tagged our bags right through to Tampa but told us even so that we had to pick up our bags at the "port of entry into the States", which was Atlanta - to check through customs before proceeding with the last leg of our flight. You don't recheck the bags, just reenter them on the beltway system after going through Customs as they are already tagged for the final destination. So code shared don't seem to make any difference - it's your port of entry that's the main criteria.

Tonia...how interesting! We've been AAA members for 13 years - excellent organization! I'm sure that must be one unbelievably busy job that you do. Thank you for keeping us safe on our roads! -
Hey Joey thats the same balcony that you're going to have on the Millenium isn't it?

tonia..where do you work and what do you do? -
Schatje... you must book an Aft cabin and then you have the aft deck all to yourself - or so it seems! Yes there's nothing like the sound of the wake.
-
Oh Schatje that would be awesome!!! I'm ready to go to Alaska anytime! Joanandjoe - loved the joke. When we were fishing in Ketchikan the guide took all the smaller fish and threw them up in the air, one by one, each time a Bald Eagle would swoop down for the tasty morsel, a different Bald Eagle each time - I have amazing footage of this on my video camera.
-
We try to marry both together and I'm sure many do. But to answer my own question correctly I would say every cruise has been SHIP because we like to try different ships if possible, except (aren't there always exceptions to the rule?) this coming cruise to the Med - we loved the ship and itinerary so much that we choose the exact same ship that we did the Med with last time. (This is an exception for us!!!!)
-
We cruised 4 years ago with HAL and couldn't fault anything on our entire cruise. In fact if weren't platinum members with Princess and because of their perks we receive, we would have cruised again with HAL (and are still planning to cruise with them again - hopefully it will be as good of an experience as our first.)
-
I wish Atlanta was like that - there you have to schlep it much further before putting it back on the beltway.
-
Yes thanks Jason & Cheryl for making this a happy home to come to each day!!
-
We've cruised on both: In the Holland America camp I would say the service is superior (not that X isn't excellent, we just found them going the extra mile on HAL). They memorized our names on the first day at the lunch buffet and greeted us every day by name!! For Celebrity - I love their upstairs buffet dining area - the staff carry your tray for you and help you find a table, nice touch. On the Infinity & Millenium they have a second dining section towards the back of the ship with nice comfortable lounge chairs at the dinner tables.
-
Don't forget us...tel us about the cruise.

Well Venice gang..it looks like Euro 11-12 per son to get to the hotel - that's if we take 2 taxi's 6 people in each. What do you think? The other alternative is to take the shuttle to St. Marks Sq which we now have to pay for anyhow and then schlep all the luggage over uneven pavement and bridges!! The first option sounds more appealing to me. -
I know...should we set up home in Venice??? Oh no - no more hot dogs, Apple Pie and BBQ, maybe not!
