Just thought I'd throw this in here. The millie is going in for refurbishment in April 2007. I'm sure she's still great though. -

Yes take a tip from me - we just but one bottle of wine for the entire evening and it's much, much cheaper (although what's cheap onboard  ). but if you go the other route you can unload a boat load of cash! -

If you book a trasnfer directly from the ship to the airport through your TA with Celebrity it's all taken care of. That's what we did last time, great. The time we're staying 2 more nights at Locanda Orseola - so Celebrity won't take care of the transfer. I'm sure I read previous posting that the owners of the Locanda are fantastic and call to order your taxi (water) to the airport. Still trying to figure out who's staying at the Locanda, please remind me. -

Joey... we are Greek food crazy! So we'll definitely do the Greek Buffet on the pool deck on the Santorini night. We'll choose another night for the Olympic - maybe the first formal night. 3 formal nights are more than enough for us, we'll probably only do the last formal night, LOBSTER night!!! Just remember - the Olympic is $30 per person and that's without their specialty of paring wines with each course, if you choose to do so you can rack up a hefty bill. But the dining experience is a MUST! -

Hey guys....I'm stealing posts from over there. Here's a follow up to Mary Ann's! This was our 12 night Barcelona to Venice itinerary: Sunday ~ Casual Monday ~ Formal Tuesday ~ Casual Wednesday ~ Casual Thursday ~ Casual Friday ~ Informal Saturday ~ Formal Sunday ~ Casual Monday ~ Informal Tuesday ~ Formal Wednesday ~ Informal Thursday ~ Casual We ate at the Olympic twice. The night we were in Villefranche (our 25th anniversary celebration) and the night we were in Santorini. If I were only doing one, I would opt for the Olympic the night they have open seating in the dining room (Santorini). The cruise was fabulous. We were a group of nine, and everyone had a marvelous time. The crew in the Martini/Champagne Bar are great: Micheal,T.J. and Ferdie were always laughing, playing tricks, showing us pictures of their children and happy to see us before and after dinner. Our waiter and his assistant: Elvis and Lazarro were top notch. Our cabin attendant Virginia and her assistant Hector are a great pair and two of the best. Brenda the Captain's Club Hostess is very nice. The future sales consultant was very helpful. Manny of the activities staff is a doll. Food was very good, seas couldn't be calmer (we never felt like we were sailing) the ship is clean as a whistle and for a six year old beauty, she looks in fine shape. There are so many wonderful moments, but one of the highlights is sailing the Grand Canal in Venice. It is truly spectacular.. Feel free to ask me any questions. Enjoy your trip, I wish I was going again. -

Especially with a great group like you guys  -
Food, Sauna and T Pool, oh yes!!!!! Tony's favorite is to head to the library the minute we get on board - to get a couple of the latest novels to read whilst lying on our balcony! Only problem, next cruise is Europe.....no time to lie on balcony although there are 2 sea days. Jbond this should suit you... no time to learn napkin folding on this cruise!!!

Thanks Paula for the great weather info. I've just realised weather temeratures are pretty subjective. Here in Florida, 60's is winter cool. We'd need sweaters. Anything below 70 is cold to us. Of course if you come from up north 70 could probably be balmy   No matter what the weather - I'm going to have a great time. Cold & rain won't get me down, it's just wonderful to have the privilege to go to Europe again. -

I'm not too sure about Dog Mommie, are they still booked on this cruise? Has anyone heard from them? -

No worries Joey, our cabins are going to be well used and enjoyed for the remainder of the cruise  -
How funny! Have you done the land tour on the train from Fairbanks to the coast?

Talking about tenders..I must tell you that from where the Millie anchors the tender approach into Dubrovnik is beautiful - a real Kodak moment, get your cameras ready. Also the midday approach into Venice is "to die for" oh I can go on and on about how stunning this is - you must definately be on the starboard (right) side of the ship or on the bow. Be warned, get a place early. Magnifico!!!! -

Joey, I've emailed Claudio. Will let you know his response. -
Plenty... but mostly BINGO!!! I've won so many times - it's just great fun meeting other folks around you too.
-
You lucky thing!!! Congrats, where are you cruising to?
-
Mebert if you ever go to Monte Carlo they sell so many racing caps. Plenty of Ferrari etc etc - it seems like everyone on our cruise bought these Formula One racing caps. (By the way - our tour guide drove us around the entire race track, so neat.)

We are absolutely in love with Alaska. What was the favorite part of your Alaska cruise?
-
We did a 10 day cruise of Hawaii with 4 days before in Oahu - Waikiki Beach. I think I liked the big island the most although Maui was great too. I liked the mix of the ship and land there and don't think I'd like to stay for too long on any one of the islands. To qualify this last statement, I grew up at the beach - our house was right on the beach in Durban South Africa - so I've had my fill. But we loved the volcano and waterfalls - too gorgeous. Can anyone say Mai Tai please!

Now..now Joey not so fast  Yes the people on this board are fantastic. I was lurking on the other board earlier - the whole tone is different, so much grumbling, complaining and flaming. Not for me!!!! Besides who wouldn't want to hang out with Joey? -

The way I hear the story... from the point the ship docks to the front of the pier in some locations is far enough for the cruiseline to operate a shuttle from point a to point b...now they are apparently charging for this service.$8.00 usd.. although to this point i haven't been able to get anyone from Celebrity to confirm. You may want to write Claudio and verify they can still do this (could be a post 9/11 thingy) If they didn't mark them up I would be really disappointed LOL happy but disappointed never the less   Have not heard a thing about that......this is my first... if they did that .. I would really be upset. We were there far more recently than 9/11 - maybe I'll ask Claudio as you suggested. The shuttle may be for people taking trains, because as I say the tour guides pull up close alongside the Mille. I was lurking on CC earlier - Man the tone on that board is awful - oh I'm so happy to be here! -

I'm confused  What are they calling a shuttle in this post. On our last trip on the Milliewe docked at all three of these ports - Civitavecchia, Livorno & Venice. Civit & Livorno - both of these our tour guide was waiting right alongside the ship. No need for any type of shuttle. Venice is a water bus that transports you to St. Mark's Square, now I can see them starting to charge here, although I'm with the poster about nickel & diming!!! Santorini cable car - to buy your tickets on board would be an awesome help - no standing in awful lines, but again price??? Are they making a major markup on these? Santorini, Villefranche and Dubrovnik are all tender ports - now I had heard that X was going to charge for tendering? Any truth in this? -

Hey Joey...I'm also an anal planner - but hey it's so much fun. Tonia ...good idea about sharing water taxi's. How many people do they take at a time? I've lost track who all's staying at Locanda Orseola?? -
