  1. Welcome Cherole, Glad to see you found the best site going!!! Looking forward to your posts on the 01/20/2007 Summit roll call. Avie
  2. The excursions for Panama Canal and for Costa Rica do not seem to be available yet; however, most other ports are up already. Do you have any idea with the "big ones" will be available? Avie
  3. Hi, I'm looking forward to the production. I'm sure it will be fabulous!
  4. My best to Jean and Hugh when you chat with them again. Have a happy and boisterous 4th!!! I did check out the other site and found it discouraging that there had to be a warning about submitting derogatory posts about Celebrity. Actually, I am perverse enough to find them entertaining, and I do try to determine what the real is -- usually, I conclude that the posters are just trying to get a lot for nothing!! These remind me of restaurant-goers who eat a meal with great delight, and then complain bitterly to the management in hopes that they can get the check comped. However, on this 4th of July, I am reminded that there is still something called Freedom of Speech -- and hopefully the Constitution will prevail over perceived business interests. Now, as I jump off my soapbox, a great 4th. Avie
  5. Joey -- 0% is great!!! Avie is short for Avrum -- Biblical, yes --- The name was not translated from Hebrew; but hardly Quaker!!!
  6. I guess we'll make the final payment in November -- So far, I haven't seen anything which will save us any money by paying earlier. I've noticed that the prices on the cabin had gone up considerably. But haven't been able to check it out recently as the category has been sold out -- at least until people start turning in their reservations! You must do you magic as there seems to be little activity on this site. Go to it!!!! Happy 4th -- and all that. Avie
  7. Hi Joey -- Nothing special. As usual, we'll avoid the crowds, heat, etc. on the National Mall, and watch the National Symphony plus the doings from Boston from the comfort of the deck or apartment (of course, with the appropriate celebratory libations)! Anything on tap for you? Avie
  8. Joey -- You are keeping us on the ball (or keyboard)! Just to let you know that we are still alive. Have a happy 4th! Avie
  9. Actually, the itinerary looks fabulous!!! Galaxy is not my first choice, but sometimes one has to make concessions!!!
  10. Thanks Joey -- Looks like you have a very active group for your Milli cruise. Hope we get more posts on this site. We're seriously considering the Galaxy cruise from italy to Turkey next October. Have you looked at that one yet? Have a great weekend in sunny Socal-- Avie
  11. Guess we haven't got that far!!! Thinking of the Canal and Costa Rica has drained what little brain capacity I have, and now I have to wait for things to regenerate. However, the seven days at sea seem very inviting, and we are looking forward to them. And can't wait to have dinner at the Normandy. If it is as good as Ocean Liner on the Constellation, I may have to let my tux out a notch or two. (We did Ocean Liner twice!) I have to note that you are indeed a very busy person -- congrats on the first two spots on the Roll Call Forums. Avie
  12. Joey -- The excursion sounds fabulous -- but Betty had pretty extensive back surgery in March; so we probably will be doing the more sedate (i.e., less bouncing around) trips.
  13. Just jumped over to the other site (to see if there was any activity), and it is deadsville. I guess Jean is trying to supply the glue, but the last post was June 14! I guess they miss you!!!!
  14. Joey, Yes, we'll be arriving FLL late morning on the 19th; we were going to add an extra day, but the hotel rates got out of sight. So, we're sticking with the 19th! I haven't firmed up any ideas for an excursion in Costa Rica. But I would like to get some that will take us to the rain forests, etc. (Not zip wires, though.) I'm open to all suggestions. Avie
  15. Good afternoon Joey, We don't have a flight scheduled yet (waiting for Jet Blue to open up!) -- but expect to get to FLL in the am. Maybe have lunch with one of Betty's friends -- we're booked at the Marriott Courtyard -- airport. At least they have the shuttle (complimentary) from the airport to hotel, and from the hotel to cruise terminal. But perhaps we can all get together someplace. I'm still leaning towards the train (with or without dome!) in Panama -- thanks for the link!
  16. The book is on my list. However, I continue to procrastinate!
  17. Morning, Joey -- Actually, I haven't devoted much research to ports, yet. As I am a lounge lizzard, couch potato, etc. who is a firm believer in A/C, I try to avoid beaches. So far I focused only on the canal where we are considering seriously the domed train ride, and something in Costa Rica that includes the rain forests. I'm still leaning towards the excursions sponsored by Celebrity -- with the recent widely-reported non-Celebrity-sponsored excursion problems still in mind. I guess the final list will be out in July. Nevertheless, I am open to any suggestions, reccommendations, etc.
  18. Hi Joey (and David), Yes, I'm the same half of the cruising team that will be on the 01/20/2007 trip from FLL. I've missed your posts on the "other" site, so have come over to join the group. (Betty has gone incognito!) We are still looking forward to the trip despite the rash of Celebrity bashing that is now taking place. Interesting fact: Way back when, Betty christened a launch/pilot boat for the then Canal Zone. I made a few inquiries, and she is still in service and used as a launch to carry linesmen to the ships. Hopefully, we'll have the opportunity to see her!
