  9. Bon Voyage -- Have a great cruise. We're looking forward to your reports and photos when you return. If available, I will follow the virtual reports of the wonderful trip you planned, and will travel with you vicariously. I have even planned our meals at home to coincide with your itinerary!!! Bon Voyage. Avie

  12. Cheryl, I don't think all the excursions are available yet. You can check them out on the Celebrity website. You will need your reservation number as the excursions are "cruise specific." We're anxious to see what, if any, are going to be offered in the Panama Canal (cruising) category. But I guess the suspense will keep us looking. We did book the one in Costa Rica as, parenoid as I am, I was afraid of it selling out! Heights are not a real favorite of mine -- but I figure if I enjoyed the helicopter in Kauai (I actually looked out the side and floor windows the whole trip), the aerial tram can't be so bad!!! And Betty is looking forward to the ride over the tree canopy. As to the "misfits," it's quite a long -- and amusing -- story. It's much better over a glass (or bottle) of wine, so that will have to wait. How are the classes coming along? Avie
  13. Another possible occasion for us on the cruise -- Betty and I met on a mid-January HAL cruise (we were sitting together at a table of "misfits"). Does this qualify as an "anniversary?"
  14. 90 days to go, and we're already in the cruise mode! I just figured out the vacation days I will need to take. The request will go in next week. This is just a formality, and there is no question concerning approval. Joey, We do accept your kind offer to share the wine. Avie
  15. Actually, the ones I have talked with/communicated by email (including the "excursions desk") all seem to say, "keep checking the website." I could get no estimate on the release of the "book." The final payment is due on November 10, so I anticipate that the full excursions list will be released soon after that time. Joey, I presume that you and David are now in the final packing/prep. stages for your Med. Trip. Take lots of pictures, but more importantly have a fabulous time (how could you not!). After reading about all you side-trips, I believe you wll need all the sea days on our cruise throug the Canaljust to recover! Avie
  16. Celebrity has updated the excursions in Costa Rica. We signed up for the Aerial Gondola (or whatever). Hopefully, it will give a good view of the rainforests, etc. Does anyone know anything about this excursion? Avie
  17. I saw the same message re: shore excursions. Ah, well -- we'll just have to wait to see what it means!!! For some strange reason, I looked at my Delta itinerary. (I usually look at the itinerary as soon as I make it to make sure that it is correct, and then do not look again until close to departure time). DAL changed the flight number, and consequently, announced that the schedule changed! Of course, they advised that I no longer had a confirmed seat assignment for the segment. Fortunately, it was early enough and I was able to snag a couple of very good seats; i.e., no seats in from of us! You may want to check your itineraries from time to time. Avie
  18. Here's an except I found in an excursion brochure on X's website for another cruise transiting the PC (the 11/11/2006 Summit eastbound cruise): "For ships entering from the Caribbean Sea (East) that will sail through the entire length of the Panama Canal and will stop at Fuerte Amador; the only excursions in Panama available are the ones offered in the port of Fuerte Amador, Panama." Since we will be stopping at Fuerte Amador and not Cristobal Pier, I now believe that we will not have available the daytime excursions such as the train or the aerial trams. Hopefully, the quoted restriction will not be applicable to our cruise -- but that probably is more wishful thinking than reality. Joey, Since you are much more knowledgeable than I (and significantly more optimistic), what is your take? Avie
  19. Here's the latest scoop on Panama excursions courtesy of the Captain's Club -- "Kindly note that at this time we are currently working to confirm tour allotments with our Tour Operators in Panama. Shore Excursions will be available for viewing during the last week of October." Avie
  20. I guess our work is cut out for us while you are enjoying life on the Millie! Ah, well -- I guess that's the price we have to pay for staying home!!! But I'm sure we are up to the challenge. Avie
  21. The excursion on Princess looks fabulous!!! I didn't see an equivilent on our trip; but, I've sent an email to Celebrity to find out. Hopefully, we can come up with an equal.
