    Where would you like to cruise to that you have not been before? For me, it would be Asia and the Baltic region.

    My DH and I (mature) are fairly new to cruising, just started 4 years ago. We were on vacation in Acapulco in 2003, and were talked into a time share venture and one of the incentives was a 7 day Caribbean cruise. We took it and have been hooked ever since. We still take our land vacations every year, but we try to get in at least 1 or 2 cruises also.

    It all depends on where I am. In the Caribbean, we would get one of the locals to give us a tour of the island; they know all the great spots and restaurants. In Europe we would wander around the town and do some souvenir shopping on our own in the morning and do an excursion with the ship in the afternoon. In Mexico we book excursions with the ship.

    All of my cruises have been with Carnival and I always book directly with them including airfare.

    I always get shot glasses, polo and t-shirts, magnets, post cards, coffee mugs and a bag with the country's name that I am visiting on it. I have some many bags that I haven’t use the ones from 2 past vacations yet. LOL I also get something that represents the area I am visiting, i.e., miniatures of the Eiffel Tower, the Leaning Tower of Pisa, a gondola/mask from Venice, St. Stephen’s Cathedral in Vienna, Sagrada Familia in Barcelona, etc.

    Yes, Carnival will be there holding up signs. They will take your luggage and load it on the bus (a large, very comfortable one), you have to give them your ticket that will be included in your travel documents, board and you are on your way.
