Wow, for us there are a lot of answers to that question: Sometimes we come across a cruise that’s just such a great value we can’t pass it up regardless of where it goes or what ship it’s on. If we need a quick weekend getaway the most important things are the date and a convenient departure port. Sometimes we’ll make our plans around a destination we’ve always wanted to visit (Italy, Greece) or a place we haven’t been to in a while (Alaska, Hawaii). And sometimes we find ourselves missing a particular cruise line (Avalon Waterways, Celebrity) or looking to try a new one (Oceania). All in all, we’ve never had a bad cruise – so I guess it all works out regardless of ship or destination!

When we were at Falmouth in October aboard Allure of the Seas we decided to just walk around some; they have self-guided walking tour pamphlets available right at the port. While we we’re walking around, an elderly local woman asked if we were looking for someplace. When we told her we were just wandering she advised us that wasn’t a very good idea. Some friends of ours took a city tour on a horse-drawn wagon that they enjoyed. The port itself had a lot of shops and restaurants under construction, so it should be quite nice by now. A lot of the excursions offered seemed to be the same ones you get in Ocho Rios but with longer bus rides to get there...

That sounds very cool – we always find the history of cruising interesting.

We really need to go on a Crystal Cruise one day soon – it sounds like an amazing experience!

Very interesting. We’re not soda drinkers (we usually make our own ice tea in the buffet) but I bet Royal Caribbean will sell a lot of those refill cups.
