Jason
Cruise Lines Vow To Better Report Crime Source: Associated Press WASHINGTON -- Some House lawmakers said they could consider legislation to guard against lawlessness on the open seas. A Sacramento woman wept as she told a House panel that she was raped last year aboard a Royal Caribbean ship by a cruise ship employee. She said the cruise line gave her a garbage bag to collect evidence from the scene herself. Royal Caribbean said changes have since been enacted to improve security. One congressman said Americans should know that crimes committed on ships outside U.S. waters could create a tangled web of jurisdiction issues. The FBI said cruise operators currently don't even have to report crimes against U.S. laws if the vessel is 12 miles offshore. The new agreement would make operators report such crimes immediately. SCIROCCO
Thats why when Im on a cruise I try to look out for my fellow Passengers as well, and let them know who I am in case they need some advice or help I think the cruise lines need to hire a retired police Officer for their onboard Investigations and special skills ,like U.S. Marshalls who are assigned to the Airlines what do you think?
