RNSANE
On my Monarch cruise last week, I spent two nights in the Royal Suite....what an experience that was....one afternoon, Joey even played bartender. Don't know why I got that except that I was the one on the ship with the most cruises ( 59 ) and the prior residents went home early for some reason. It helped, also, I think that it was my 17th sailing on the Monarch and the crew are like family to me....whatever, I wasn't about to utter a word of complaint. Another time I was upgraded on the Vision from an outside to a balcony - and once, on the Rhapsody, I went from an outside to one of those fancy suites with a 60+ foot balcony. RNSANE
Sorry, this shouldn't have been posted in the "Ongoing Games" discussion - although getting an upgrade might be considered an ongoing game....I should probably repost in the General Discussion. rogue
We were upgraded on our first cruise. We went from an outside cabin to a balcony. It worried us at first because we picked our original cabin because we both have a tendency toward motion illness. As soon as we saw the cabin, and the balcony, we fell in love with it. The unfortunate thing is that the upgrade has cost us lots of money over the years because now we will never sail without a balcony. I really don't know how they chose us for the upgrade. We did book the cruise well in advance, but now we always do, and have never had an upgrade since.
teacp
Our fifth cruise is coming up and we have been upgraded three times. The first time we went from an OV to a balcony and of course they know exactly what they are doing. The second two times we were upgraded to an aft balcony.........So of course we loved it and on our upcoming we have an aft balcony also. I don't know if this is true but our travel planner told us that she doesn't have to give a TA commision so she can give us the upgrades. RNSANE
It is so nice to be in a balcony...I just love sleeping with the door open and hearing the ocean. Once on the Vision, I slept with the door open. The next morning, I couldn't utter a world....I dined at the captain's table the second night and I was quite interesting....couldn't talk at all. Folks would say that was a plus!
