  4. You've just gotten home from your cruise... The suitcases are in, and you're exhausted, and ready for a vacation. What's the first thing you do, when you get home? For me, it's brew a fresh, hot, pot of coffee.... I pour a cup and sip it while I watch the video I took....

  7. In all honesty, the "grounds" at Atlantis are amazing. You walk through "caves" lined with aquariums lining the walls. They have a shark pool, etc; The setting is beautiful. It's just not worth $25.00. You can enjoy natural, underwater, marine life at the attraction just outside Nassau. It's called Coral Island Bahamas. You'll see the tower from the ship... Also, right near that attraction is Ardastra Gardens. Not breathtaking, but really beautiful. Another really interesting spot is Potter's Cay. It's a tiny island that sits under the Nassau side of the Paradise Island Bridge. If you go early in the day, you'll see the fishing boats, and inter-island trade boats, scurrying in and out of the docks. There's a "farmer's market," on the island, where you can get great conch salad and fresh tropical fruit.

  10. C'mon, guys....let's not be pessimistic! Why even think about contracting the flu? Yes, I'd check to see if the Cruise Insurance covers it, and would consider cancelling, if it does. If it doesn't, take a chance! They even have lozenges, now, that get rid of a cold in 2-3 days.... And, remember.... Gray skies are gonna clear up Put on a happy face Wipe of the clouds and cheer up Put on a happy face Take of the gloomy mask of tragedy It's not your style You'll look so good that you'll be glad That you decided to smile Pick out a pleasant outlook Stick out that nobel chin Wipe off that full of doubt look Snap on a happy grin Spread sunshine all over the place And just put on a happy Put on a happy face Gray skies are gonna clear up Put on a happy face Wipe off the clouds and cheer up Put on a happy face Take of the gloomy mask of tragedy It's not your style You'll look so good that you'll be glad That you decided to smile Pick out a pleasant outlook Stick out that noble chin Wipe off that full of doubt look Snap on a happy grin Spread sunshine all over the place And just put on a happy Put on a happy face

  13. There`s a boat on the line where the sea meets the sky. There`s another that rides far behind. And it seems you and I are like strangers a wide Ways apart as we drift on through time. He said it`s harder now you`re far away We only read you when you write. We`re two ships that pass in the night We both smile when we say it`s alright. We`re still here, Oh it`s just that we`re out of sight like those ships that pass in the night.

WAIT FOR ME!!!!!!! ................................................................................ ................. SERIOUSLY: You can arrive up to one hour prior to scheduled sailing, and there shouldn't be any problem.

  19. A number of years ago, I sailed the Norwegian Crown, and the CD was Shannon McKee. Shannon is still with NCL, but I have heard that she works in the "Exec Office..." The ship was “small,†and held under 1,000 passengers. Shannon, and her staff, made it a point to mingle with the passengers, and make small talk. Around the pool at sail-away; visiting the lounges; walking the passageways; there they were. By the third day of the cruise, Shannon knew the first name of 80% of the passengers, and where most of them came from. Imagine participating in a pool game, or trivia, or, whatever, and, at the end, the Cruise Director, not asking you name, but saying, “And, this is Jeff, from Miami…â€Â

  22. We have a casino cruise, out of Fort Lauderdale, that is on a true ship, not a big "yacht." It's the Discovery and, last I heard, it is owned and operated by Apollo Ship Chandelers. They used to do ALL of the food on Celebrity, Dolphin, Fantasy, Commodore, etc; etc; The ship is the "old classic" style, and the pool is at the stern. The band plays and you're surrounded by ocean on 3 sides. They usually run day cruises to Freeport, Bahanmas. They leave Ft. Lauderdale early in the morning, spend a few hours in Grand Bahama, and then return about midnight. Every year, they run a New Year's Eve cruise, and, thisyear, I'll be on her. Made plans to spend the evening with a "friend." I'm not sure this relly counts as a cruise, but it is't a "non-cruise." Do I say I've been on 55 1/2 cruises, once New Year's is over?

  25. Unfortunately, Shari, Atlantis has gotten like the rest of the Bahamas, hungry for the Yankee Dollar, and now charges $25.00, per person, just to walk around the grounds. That does NOT include use of ANY of the facilities; pool, beach, etc; While I have to admit that Atlantis is truly impressive (I visited before the charge was instituted...), I really don't think it's worth 25 bucks. Crystal Palace is still 'free.' Plus, I feel compelled to go to their Casino to visit my money... By the way, on Grand Bahama Island (Freeport) there's a beautiful attraction named Garden of the Groves... It's a 12 acre attraction, with cascading (man-made) waterfalls, botanical gardens, scenic trails, a petting zoo with animals and tropical birds to feed. It's owned, and operated, by Parrot Jungle, of Miami. The admission is $9.95 per person.
