  1. Thanks Joey, stirling job as usual!!! Glad to see the report jives with what our local TV station reported with regard to lipstick. On our long distance (18 hours) flights on South African Airways to SA we are always given toothpaste, toothbrush, eye shield and socks - also in all the bathrooms they have liquid soap, toner, moisurizer and of course hand lotions - and this is for coach class. So I guess the other airlines are going to have to follow suit now to keep passengers. By the way that report says up to 4oz of non-prescription liquid is allowed - hopefully this includes my nose drops which I have found to be the only way to stop drying out my sinuses and nasal passages on long overseas flights...that was my big concern.
  2. Welcome cruise4me!!! Yes this is the friendliest board, and we welcome you aboard!!!!
  3. I had to check in from Melbourne for you guys....couldn't keep you in suspense. Sorry, I don't have good news - Princess is NOT offering the train thingie on this trip...I have no idea why, so sorry I'm not of any help to you at all - wish I could have helped!!!
  4. Welcome gordough - great to have you onboard!
  5. Mebert have a great cruise - I too miss you..... please tell us all about your adventures when you get back.
  6. Too funny - lipgloss is a little bottle of gel....makes your lips shine - lipstick is a solid...does that help?
  7. Tonia.... they did an interview with the Tampa International head honcho this morning and he clarified that lipstick is allowed but lipgloss is not.....so hopefully that is true. I'm gonna check on Trader Joe's.
  8. Welcome messyjessy - great to have you onboard!
  9. Welcome kalves......great that you have joined us Crazies, please post often!
  10. Is anyone going to attempt to "ULTRA pack" a seperate checked bag with bottles in it? I really am tempted. We inquired about shipping stuff from Italy and also Greece and both prices given to us were outrageous - can't remember the numbers but they were awful - so no shipping for us!!!!
  11. I am taking my excursion book with me to Melbourne (to the grandkids) today - and hopefully will get a bit of free time to look through it. As soon as I know the answer I'll let you know.
  12. That was reported by our newscaster speaking from the Tampa international airport this morning. So far cell phones, cameras and laptops are still allowed - they have to be turned on and tested to see that they actually work. Oh my - can you imagine a vacation without a camera!!! Life is certainly changing for us, isn't it?
  13. They've already announced here that liquids in carryon luggage will always stay banned - like knives, screwdrivers etc
  14. Tip for flying for the ladies: Place all your small loose items in your purse/pocketbook into a ziplock bag - they can then just take the baggie out and examine/see everything....helps expedite the process. Yay....lipstick is allowed....that would have been awful if not
  15. The sooooper olive oil that we purchased on the Amalfi Coast... was from a market alongside the road - HOW would we ship this to the States hmm? Olive Oil is more important to me than the wine - we purchase wine from Spain and Italy here at home - but the oil is different!
  16. Welcome bishop35, great to have you onbaord!!!!
  17. I saw one woman having to put her lipstick on and then place the lipstick in the checked baggage - please don't be taking any photo's of me on my arrival in Europe 9 hours later!!!
  18. I can't imagine how expensive it's going to be to ship stuff home - geeeez this is unreal. I'm so bummed....I know, I know... I'm very grateful that we're on top of the security issue and there is nothing more important than to keep us safe BUT don't they know that wine and olive oil are two important commodities being brought in from Europe!!!!
  19. Geez Gail - you're right.......no more liquids in our carryons.....bummer - this also means no buying wine in Europe
  20. I sure will share as much about the ports that I can with you when we get back. Received our Shore Excursion book yesterday - it's huge - oh my goodness just more confusion!!!
  21. Wonderful Joey - I guess we won't receive ours for a while as we only have to pay our final payment on Monday. They won;t send this out until the cruise is fully paid for.....but better the money in my account than in theirs so we always hang in to the absolute end!!! Now you can share excursions that really "float your boat" with us!!!
  22. Welcome JAppleg981, great to have you onboard!!!!
  23. Hey Howard, how great - ooooh I'm jealous - Alaska is my favorite destination!!! Enjoy!
  24. Welcome rwams, great to have you onboard with us!!!!
  25. Way to Go!!!! Now that's a true "buddy". I understand that RCI have gone through some awful press lately what with their Captain being "under the influence" and people partying hard and falling overboard - but what stops them from purchasing
