Same friend, different e mail. This one was a hoot and it's especially fun to just ask these questions out of the blue. Charlie Exercise of the brain is as important as exercise of the muscles. As >we grow older, it's important to keep mentally alert. If you don't use it, >you lose it! > > Take the test presented here to determine if you're losing it or >not. The spaces below are so you don't see the answers until you've made >your answer. > > OK, relax, clear your mind and begin > > > > 1. What do you put in a toaster? Answer: "bread." If you said "toast," give up now and do something >else. Try not to hurt yourself. If you said, bread, go to Question 2. > > > 2. Say "silk" five times. Now spell "silk." I was raising with the 'starving children in China' threat growing up and feel obligated to cleam my plate, no matter what. I have long since learned to be selective and conservative at buffets. Unless something is truly awful, I will finish it. My theory is, I can always go back and get more, I can't return the uneaten food. Charlie

I love cruising as much as the next person, but this is a little much. If I wanted to break a record, I'd look for something a litle easier. As others have noted, sure hope they can get along for that length of time. I'll stick with Princess.... Charlie

Congrats on your new 'baby" - can't wait to hear all about it when you return! Charlie

Again, as with the 'chair hog' post, I purposefully go on cruises to get away from this type of behavior. We have had some less than pleasent tablemates on our second cruise, but we were still too green to change tables. Now it's not a problem, but we've had lovely tablemates since. if someone was argumentive and unpleasent, I would move in a heartbeat. Neither of us enjoy confrontation and would go out of our way to avoid it. Charlie

We opted out of the deck chair war by getting a balcony and we enjoy lounging there - don't need to worry about noise, obnoxious neighbors or 'the things you see when you don't have a gun' swim suits. I go on cruises to relax. Charlie

Doing crafts is a great way to feel creative and still enjoy ship actiives. I have done the ceramics, and tee shirt painting classes offered by Princess. It's a great way to have a personal memento from the ship. Charlie

Have to admit that we have tried other lines, but we keep coming back to Princess. We just feel very comfortable with them and believe that they go the extra mile. As for our favorite ship, that would be a toss up between the Tahitian and Pacific Princess. since they are sister, they are identical and we have enjoyed every minute that we have sailed upon them. We lament that they are not 'world' cruisers, but stay with one or two itineraries as we would sail with them anywhere. Charlie

One of the most glorious things in the world is your first cruise. In spite of all the preparation, everything will be new and exciting. Soon, you'll be an old salty sea dog like the rest of us. Have an incredible time (and don't forget to check out the Explorer's Club on Pleasure Island!) Charlie

Spoke with John B. He used to be chief mess officer for an aircraft carrier. Now, granted he reitred from the military a while ago (like 15 years), he said that you could do quite well on $10 a day pp. He used to feed his crew on $5 and they ate very well. Charlie
