Jason - Thanks for putting into words what so many of us are wondering. just a follow-up on the Princess couple. The girl was very drunk (also a life guard) who fell overboard from the 9th deck (still not sure what she was doing) and the guy jumped in to save her. Thanksfully the story ended well, but Princess hasn't been quick to make much of a fuss over this. Charlie

I'm not really sure about Carnival, but on Princess, each excursion is marked with an exertion label (easy to very difficult). I've had a lot of experience climbing ladders and you should be able to do 20 feet without needing a tremendous amount of strength. However, how are you at heights? I've had football players freeze on me halfway up a ladder because of heights. If you are good with them, then you should be okay. Just let your tour guide know and they will keep an eye on you. I wear glasses and carried an extra pair with me when I travel, it would be limited to a medical emergency only for me. I have a regular optomitrist whom I like very much and trust explicitly, so I would be more inclined to have an exam on shore. Interesting thought, though. Charlie

Jamie and Gene - you will be surprised at just how welcoming and gracious the people are here. i've belonged for just about a month now and an still amazed at the outporuing of affection that these people have for everyone here. There is a definite family feel here that I haven't found anywhere else on the web. Charlie

They just aren't reteasing much more than that, Mebert, but a report that I read elsewhere indicated that alcohol was involved along with some very bad judgement. On the good side, the people were treated and released with minor injuries. They were also given the opportunity to leave the cruise at the first stop. No word if they chose to stay aboard or not. Charlie
