  3. Just make sure you are probably inenbriated, Skipper! If memory serves me correctly, they pulled the Titanic's (I think that's the ship) head cook from the Atlantic many hours after the wreck. They said that he'd drank so much that his blood acted as an antifreeze. So, party hardy first! Charlie
  4. It might also reflect that Carnival now owns so many of the other lines. It may be their way of keeping the prices fixed as you say, Howard, or it may just be that they finally realized that they have glutted that market and are trying to offer more cruises elsewhere. Some destinations are pretty bleak when it comes to choices. I'm jsut wondering if Alaska might be next! Charlie

  7. Thank you for clarifiying for me, Dan, that's exactly the time period I'm looking at. My question stemmed from a poster on another site who have just received the 08-09 schedules and made this observation. I'm just sort of looking for confirmation, since this is the period we are thinking about going to the Caribbean on Princess. I'm think there will still be ships sailing, but possibly not out of FLL Charlie
  8. Sea Days, we like to get up around 8 (or so) for breakfast, then Chris goes one way and I go the other. Usually he takes a computer class, I go to a lecture and then head back to the cabin to read or quilt. Then we meet for lunch, take a nap, watch some tv or read or...whatever... then it's time for dinner. then we head to the show room. it doesn't sound like much, but we like it. Charlie
  9. I enjoy: 1. touring the local museums and/or theaters 2. Finding some place great to eat 3. Shopping for souvenirs Unless we're in Tahiti and then it's 4. Snorkel 5. Snorkel 6. snorkel 7. Then eat!! Charlie
  10. We always try to stay a couple of days in the disembarkation port to 'rest up', but if there's any shfiting through time zones, I'm a mess for a week afterwards. I went into work after getting in the night before from Australia and my boss sent me home for fear that I would hurt myself - I was that loggy. Of course, by the time I got home, I was on Aussie time and sleep wasn't an option. Sigh, the sacrifices we make for cruising.... Charlie
  11. Um...okay. Just an observation, but do you know how hard you have to hit just a regular window to make it shatter enough for someone to fall through it? yet, the witness didn't report any shattered glass and it was 'unclear' as to whether or not the window was open. As Mr. Spock would say, "I find their argument trimmed with gaping defects in logic." I'm guess some reporter just could wait to pitch another anti-cruise story to the networks...

  14. That was sort of my feeling too, Howard, but as Dan mentioned, that is a lucrative market for Princess. Just was curious what other people have heard/seen. Thanks! Charlie
  15. This is officially unconfirmed at this point, but the 2008 catalog seems to confirm that Princess is severely curtailing its Caribbean cruises next year and will not be sailing out of Florida at all. Just wonder if anyone else has heard this? Charlie
  16. I'm always ready for a luau, but Florida is farther from us than Hawai'i. Sorry, I'd love to be there if it was closer. Mahalo, Charlie

  21. Okay, Odd man out here, I love packing! It means we're leaving to go some where - I don't care if it's on a cruise or just out of town for the weekend. Our cats, on the other hand, not so crazy about it. Happy sails and calm seas, Charlie
  22. Not crazy about the idea of having to pay to check luggage, especially since it often gets more travel than we do. Ours has certainly been to more exotic places than we have. A news report last night said that airlines are going 5to start charging for food and (formerly free) drinks now. I think it said that American was leading the pack on this. let's face it, the good old days are firmly behind us now... Charlie
  23. Waithe, Have an incredible cruise! Here's wishing you happy sails and calm seas, Charlie
  24. Skipper, Please let me know how you liked this. At least the group doesn't have to worry about thieves jumping you! We're taking along our GD for the same reason - she has a third degree black belt in a couple differnt martial arts. Maybe you need to remind your wife that dark is fun...wink, wink, nudge, nudge.. Have a wonderful time! Charlie
  25. Ahoy, Binky! Pull up a deck chair and caht for awhile. You've found the friendliest cruise site on the web! Hope to see you on the boards. Wilkomme, bievenu, welcome, Charlie
