oh boy ... ok I can try and help.. couple of questions though are you planning to fly in on saturday the day before the cruise? willyou fly out of Little Rock or do you have another airport you could use.. ok, fly in the day before. leave out of L.R. no other airport. Dallas is a 6 hour drive and I am not going to make it! Memphis, no thank you.

and SOMEBODY is going to have to help me in getting my plane tickets! PLEASE, I haven't got a clue!

Borrow hubby's Credit card before you go.. when you get home simply say "thank you..but you were toooo generous!" weelll....I think he is going to say Happy Birthday, Merry Christmas, Happy Anniversary and Happy Valentine's Day all in the same breath when I step on the plane to leave! so he will be thinking I don't need anything extra...

Rose.. You hit the nail on the head! Don't know why I didn't think of it. #30 Wedding anniversary is 6/6/09. That's perfect, special cruise to celebrate our anniversary. Don't think you can argue that one. Thank you! Thank you! great idea Rose...and great that you have the 30th coming up Steve. I had been thinking along the lines on of a special birthday or event for Lynda...celebrating so many years on the job, something like that, I was thinking she did that here awhile back...? i didn't even think of a special anniversary! guess I thought YOU should had thought of THAT ONE!!!

I really miss mom now. She would have told him he is too old and feable to go on a cruise and that would have been the end on it! We will figure something out. my community has an excellent Senior Adult Center. It is not a elder day care in any sense of the word, but a place to hang out, play cards, do crafts, socialize, etc... would Gramps be interested in something like that?

all of this is good advice...just one thing. if your friends take this the wrong way you might not want to ask them to water your plants while you are gone...

Yes Andrea you are right. We fly my sister up here to stay with him. The only problem is I think he wants to go on a cruise more than spend time with my sister! I can understand if your sister is anything like mine! LOL maybe if Gramps' heart can stand it arrange some "date nights" for him while you are away... gotts to be plenty of available women in your area needing male company....

Steve ~ isn't your sister going to come up and stay with Gramps??? I thought you mentioned that at one time... your situition is much tougher than mine with my parents...I haven't told anyone about my cruise. That is why i don't have a countdown clock under my signature... at least when I go away this time hubby will be here at home to "mind the farm" but even still, i am not planning on telling them until i think I have to. But if you all remember, Hubby told them 3 months before our last cruise and let me worry about telling them the whole time...! but this time HE has told ME not to say a word! LOL BTW...I will think on your question.
