mamalady
What can we expect from the Formal night the second night of our cruise? How formal is this event?
Joanandjoe
Mebert and DaCruzNut were both on the ship last year. Why not send them a personal message? We were on the ship, too, but it was back in 2001, under different ownership; and, anyway, after five years we don't remember details about formal night. DaCruzNut
There really isn't a formal night aboard the Regal Empress.... It's a "Jean's Cruise" all the way. That's one of its advantages! Pack a small bag, for the two nights, and carry it onboard. If you want to "dress," slacks and a long-sleeve sport shirt for the men and a casual pants suit for the ladies is about as fancy as you want to be.... Mebert
mamalady, I found most passengers in the dining room were dressed comfortably and neatly. Some passengers wore dresses with light shawls while others opted for a variety of pants. I did spot maybe one black tie and a couple of evening gowns, but it wasn't the norm. On both dining nights, I think I dressed casually but neatly, maybe business casual or smart casual. You can wear what you would like to wear within reason. I would say wear what you would wear to a mid-range restaurant. The Regal Empress is fun, but not all that formal unless you want to be.
