mjdpjd
Hi everyone, My husband has never been on a cruise before and my only experience is on a Disney cruise as a child. We're interested in possibly going on a cruise and were hoping to find one that has a health/fitness theme. Does anyone know of any cruises like that? Also, how in Jan. for cruising - are there alot of options? Obviously, we don't know too much about cruises, so any help would be great. Thanks! Joanandjoe
Welcome to Cruise Crazies. Have you tried Google or a similar search engine? Crystal had 8 health and fitness cruises in 2005 and may have some in 2006; but they're beyond the price range of most people here. A Spa in Calif. also claims to host H & F cruises; but their web site says that there will be listings "soon". Keep poking, and don't be afraid to call the cruise lines in which you have an interest. Jason
Welcome aboard, mjdpjd! I know many of the cruise lines nowadays have special menus for healthy eaters, but other than that I'm not sure. Anyone else know more?
GottaCruz
I don't know of a ship having a theme of Health and Fitness but all the cruises that we've been on , llike Jason said, there are certain items on the menu that are designated as healthy choices. Also, there are exercise classes and seminars about health and fitness topics. The gyms are very well equipped . I even had an analysis done to find out my fat percent and lots of other personal one on one things that you can take advantage of in the spa. They have foot massages, you can meet with a trainer, etc., etc, etc. Glad to have you as a member and feel free to post your birthday, anniversary and any upcoming cruises. HOpe to see you posting often. We'd love to have you participate in our Games Forums.
mjdpjd
Thank you Jason and Cheryl for your replies. Cheryl, you mentioned that you had your body fat % done. Was that a free service on board and if not, how much was it? Also, what cruise line did you have it on. Thanks again, Mary
GottaCruz
Mary, It was done on a Carnival ship- don't remember which one but we've been on several and they all offered it. I think it was about 30 dollars or so. Now that was when we first started cruising, about 11 years ago so I doubt the price would be the same. In fact, Mary, I think I still have the printout . I'm going to look for it for you and see what other info was on it. I do remember that I got some good info and thought it was very reasonable and was glad that I did it. I 'll post back here as soon as I locate it.
