  1. Been Using that app for a few years. Love it. Keep track of other people's cabin #'s traveling with you. Port ideas, Explore your ship and deck plans and more. Really love this app. I have one for my three cruislines I have sailed on. A must have.
  2. Sadly, my husband doesn't dance so I don't know about that.I miss dancing but he doesn't know how and is embarassed to learn so .............:( I would LOVE to learn how to ballroom dance. Guess it's not in the cards. No sense in learning if you have no one to dance with. As for a New Years cruise, I can't. My daughter is getting married in April in Ohio and we already have a cruise in Dec 2013. So that is the extent of our travel for the year. Too bad you can't come with us on the Sunshine in Dec 2013.....:)
  3. They can raise it to 100, no matter to us. We never pay extra to eat in a specialty restaurant. We pay enough for the cruise and the dining room and buffets are fine with us. Don't like to be nickle and dimed.
  4. no more cruises this year. :( Join us in Dec of 2013 on the Sunshine out of New Orleans. Been on the Conquest twice. Once in an L shaped cabin 6481, then in an aft 8461. Nice balcony on both. :)
  5. I roll my clothing. less wrinkles, and you can pack more. I pack any socks inside of shoes. If you don't take socks, put anything in there....it's good space for something. I always pack ziploc bags for wet clothing. I bring only travel sized shampoo/conditioner, shaving cream, toothpaste etc....saves room and when they are empty you don't have to pack them (or even if they are not.)
  6. I am prone to being car sick and I get naseous on small boats, but I have never taken anything for a cruise and I have never been sick. I would rather be on a ship than an airplane these days. :)
  7. Carnival Sunshine - December 8, 2013 - Western Caribbean. Can't wait. First time from Nola. Don't care for New Orleans. Been there done that, didn't like it, but I can tolerate it for one night to get on a cruiseship.
  8. Can't wait to sail on her in Dec of 2013!
  9. Had an inside, then had a balcony. Baconies win every time! No suites, just a nice balcony. Aft wrap perferably. :)
  10. I have found that most people in an emergency Panic, not act according to what they should be doing. I also know that we (the ones that attend the drills) wait longer because we are waiting on the "no shows", so those people make the muster drill take longer. Seems that people, no matter how smart they are or how many cruises they have been on, would attend a mandantory safety meeting, if for nothing else, to keep those of us waiting from waiting so long. No way will I miss one of these. You can get disoriented in an emergency and having some sense of where you need to go will help. Please people, think of those waiting for straglers and the ones who are hiding in their cabins. We are waiting for YOU. Get there, be on time and the drills wont take so long. Now that you don't have to bring your life jacket, you can go on your way afterwards, without a treck back to your cabin after the drill. If you wont do it for yourself, how about for the courtesy of the other cruisers who are standing there waiting .
  11. Good to know about Grand Caymen. Been a few years since we've been there and forgot that we tendered. Thanks!
  12. Love Key West. We don't bar hop but love the sights. Hemmingways house, the beaches and the shopping. I love Keno's Sandals. Inexprensive and last for years. It is always a stop for me when on Key West.
  13. I like to watch the ice carving, hairy chest contest and love to play the trivia games. Played the newlywed game once. It was alrgiht but the trivia games I am hooked on.
  14. I would get rid of adult shows. That kind of humor and language just isn't necessary. I avoid the late night shows for that reason. I attend the early shows because the jokes and format are hilarious without being offensive. No I am not prude....just some things are needed to make a vacation. I would also keep the drink of the day and would require the bar servers to ask if you want a regular or souvenir glass. The price is often a dollar or more for the souvenir glass and most new cruisers don't know this. Also, just how many cheap plastic souvenir glasses does one need.? :) I realize it's revenue for the ship but really. Last cruise, I noticed you couldn't hear the announcements in the cabin. I tried looking for a setting on the phone but with no luck. I was told that people complained so they stopped it. I would like the OPTION of having it if I want. I enjoy the announcements. I forget some shows etc and it is a great reminder. It would be nice if ALL balconies had the option of opening so no matter where you are in a balcony, if you travel with someone next to you, you can open the balcony if you want.
  15. Yes I do. I typical take two of each shot. Sometimes one might be blurry and the next, really nice. Easy to delete extras. I also bring an extra 2-4 gig flash card just in case the first one has an issue. Once I get home I can delete the ones that didn't turn out and still have a great collection of photographs.
  16. It doesn't matter how many times you cruise, you should always go to muster drill. If nothing else, to be familiar where your lifeboast is located and to make sure there isn't something new you don't know about. Does it really bother people to lose 20 minutes or so, to be safe and prepared? Just my opinion. I don't look forward to the drills but I do attend every one.
  17. 2. A woman threatened to call police after claiming that she'd been locked in by staff. When in fact, she had mistaken the "do not disturb" sign on the back of the door as a warning to remain in the room. TOO FUNNY!
  18. Postcard, deck plan of the ship, Fun Times papers, and a magnet from each ship.
  19. I would need a great deal of life insurance and a few bottles of something strong. :)
  20. We traveled with a friend who is blind. Erin, her german sheppard service dog, sat under the table each evening. On formal nights she had a bow around her neck. When he guide/lead was off, she LOVED tennis balls. :) She was a joy to have around. People knew not to feed her or mess with her while she was "on duty". Service dogs are awesome. I know that some people use chihuahuas as service dogs because they are great for people with asthma. :) Seriously.
  21. I do not and will not use the internet cafe or use my cell phone. I am on vacation. Email can wait. Facebook can wait. I wont spend my precious days of a cruise sitting in a room on a computer and I am a tech junkie! I will not carry my cell phone around so people from home can talk to me. I will talk to them when I get home. :) If they want to spend that much time talking to me, then book the cruise and come along. I do not go to the R rated shows. Went to one out of curiousity...............VILE! Never again. That kind of language isn't needed ANYWHERE!
  22. Look at the conquest deck plans. That cabin was 6481 upper deck. Right next to the wrap around cabins at the back of the ship.
  23. LOVE the balconies! We always try to get one on the stern, but when not available - Mid ship balcony will do. We had an L-shaped room once and it was fabulous, so if a stern wasn't available, then I would see if one of the L-shaped was.
