    If it worked out in terms of price, ease of connections, and the flexibility we like such as getting in a day early and staying a few days post cruise then maybe. However it's not likely as I would prioritize using a star alliance partner for the miles, booking on the UA website if optimal and using my explorer card for baggage fee waiver and the possibility of triple miles. So very doubtful.

    Good lord! If this becomes the usual then I'd have to think about not cruising.

    God so sorry to hear this. It's impossible to say who's at fault as we don't have the facts. Kids can stay down for a surprising amt. of time and recover though this is more prevalent in cold water which I don't think is the case here. My prayers are with them.

    No, not yet and not anytime soon. Perhaps they are improving but I have read so many poor to mediocre reviews that for me it's not worth risking it. I'll go with the tried and true.

    We usually do our own air and as advise buy ins. and fly in ahead of time. We booked air once with the cruise line for the so. Pacific and disliked the routing. We went from Chi. to Salt Lake City, then to LA, then to Papeete. The return was the same and this was with Princess so we did not know the routing until after the purchase so never again. I

    So heres how jury duty went today. Went with my group and got selected to sit in the jury box but the case got settled. OK. Went back to the holding area and my group got called again. There were about 32 people and we were told to leave but be back in 40 mins. after lunch. OK. So 14 people get called for the jury box but three are not there. One shows up 20 mins. late and the other about 30 mins. late so guess who gets called to sit? Me. Then the guy whose place I took strolls in 70 mins. p...

    So busy yesterday running around after three crazy busy days at work. One bad patient and we all hump. Had friends over last night so today I will embody the real "L" word. LAZY! :D just had some chips and guac. Yeh man, its all good.

    I don't believe it. Robert Morris University, a local Chicago school just beat Kentucky, one of the most renowned basketball programs in college sports in the first round of the NIT. Thats like Albania beating the Miami Heat. Unbelievable!

    In addition to all the countries in the EU in grave financial trouble add the tiny island nation of Cyprus to this group. So what did the EU banks think to do? Why seize a portion personal, yes personal funds in Cypriot banks and put the money in their own pockets even though the EU has a guarantee ala the FDIC for funds up to 100,000 Euros. Robin Hood is rolling over in his grave. The measure did not pass BTW but how can you even think of such a thing? ? ? Who would think of such a thing? ?...

    So people are commenting about how Satan in the History Channels mini series "The Bible" look like Obama. Personally that never occurred to me. However I do wonder how many will see this as an omen. Well for me I say don't demonize someone because you disagree with their politics. I certainly did not agree with how "W" ran the country but at heart I think he is a good man. I think Obama is too so let's not go off the deep end here though I fear many are already there. JM2C.

    No way will we stop cruising. This bad pub will discourage new or perhaps inexperienced cruisers but not us!

    can finally start my day. Over 1 hr. on the tele with Apple trouble shooting a plug in problem. Anyway its resolved. The senior advisor who the issue got bumped up to resolved it in 5 mins. The first guy sounded new but he was nice and hey we all have to begin at some point. No matter how good you are at what you do never forget what it was like to be at the beginning.

    Definitely. The best part of an Alaskan cruise is the excursions.

    Very generous compensation I think for missing only one port. I wonder how much money the ship makes by having folks on board for an extra day vs. the money lost by cancellation of excursions? For me it remains to be seen if this spate of mech. problems is weird coincidence or due to lax maintenence procedures. Maybe we will never know.
