Wow! What an upgrade. Congratulations....I hope we're as lucky.
-
That's great. I'm happy for you. I can't wait to see what I'm going to get. It's almost like waiting for Christmas......
-
Thanks to everyone for your helpful replies. I feel better now. I was worried that, without a cabin number, our luggage would end up in Neverland somewhere.
-
I didn't know that. That'll be a big help if we don't know our cabin number by then. We also opted to do the documents on line and it still says TBA. I'm not sure it can change once it's printed but I may be wrong. Hopefully, there will be a nice surprise when we get there.

I booked it myself but if I don't have a cabin by the time I get our paperwork, I will call Carnival. I've already printed out our Fun Pass and no room on it yet. Of course, it's still a little early so I'll check again as it gets closer. Thanks for all your inputs. I'm hoping we'll get an upgrade too. It would be a great birthday present....

Hi everyone. This is Tut. I don't get on here very much anymore. Our lives are just so busy that I don't even have time to read our e-mails sometimes. Anyway, I'm hoping someone can answer this question for me. We're sailing on Carnival Sensation in November and our cabin is a TBA (To be assigned). When do we know what cabin we have? They're going to mail us our documents and such but I'm wondering what we would put on the tags that go on our luggage. Has anyone every had this before? This is the first time for us. We usually pick our cabin but this time we got a really great Military rate and could have picked a cabin but we were informed that we could get upgraded (slight possibility) if we just went with TBA. What do you think? I know we're going to get a cabin. I'm just not sure how soon we'll know which one. Any help would be appreciated.

This is something to think about when negative people are doing their best to rain on your parade. Remember this story the next time someone who knows nothing, and cares less, tries to make your life miserable. A woman was at her hairdresser's getting her hair styled for a trip to Rome with her husband. She mentioned the trip to the hairdresser, who responded: "Rome? Why would anyone want to go there? It's crowded and dirty. You're crazy to go to Rome. So, how are you getting there?" "We're taking Continental. "We got a great rate!" "Continental?" exclaimed the hairdresser. "That's a terrible airline. Their planes are old, their flight attendants are ugly, and they're always late. So, where are you staying in Rome?" "We'll be at this exclusive little place over on Rome's Tiber River called Teste." "Don't go any further. I know that place. Everybody thinks its gonna be something special and exclusive, but it's really a dump, the worst hotel in the city! The rooms are small, the service is surly, and they're overpriced. So, whatcha' doing when you get there?" "We're going to go to see the Vatican and we hope to see the Pope." "That's rich," laughed the hairdresser. "You and a million other people trying to see him. He'll look the size of an ant. Boy, good luck on this lousy trip of yours. You're going to need it." A month later, the woman again came in for a hairdo. The hairdresser asked her about her trip to Rome. "It was wonderful," explained the woman, "not only were we on time in one of Continental's brand new planes, but it was overbooked, and they bumped us up to first class. The food and wine were wonderful, and I had a handsome 28-year-old steward who waited on me hand and foot. And the hotel was great! They'd just finished a $5 million remodeling job, and now it's a jewel, the finest hotel in the city. They, too, were overbooked, so they apologized and gave us their owner's suite at no extra charge!" "Well," muttered the hairdresser, "that's all well and good, but I know you didn't get to see the Pope." "Actually, we were quite lucky, because as we toured the Vatican, a Swiss Guard tapped me on the shoulder, and explained that the Pope likes to meet some of the visitors, and if I'd be so kind as to step into his private room and wait, the Pope would personally greet me. Sure enough, five minutes later, the Pope walked through the door and shook my hand! I knelt down and he spoke a few words to me." "Oh, really! What'd he say?" He said: "Where'd you get the shitty hairdo?!?"

Thanks all. This is great information. I'll definately be able to find something with all this help. What a great bunch of people.

Question: Is there another cruise line, other than the Carnival, that has Jamaica as one of their ports? That's where we were suppose to go last September before the hurrican hit New Orleans. I checked their cruise line and did a search for Jamaica and it (the web) said there was no match. Thanks for any info.

We stick to one cruise a year then land base vacations. We're going to VT (to visit family), California then Florida to see the Christmas decorations in Disney World. That'll be it for this year. Next year, we'll start over.

Thank you all so much. Two days and counting

Sometimes I do and sometimes I don't. No special reason. I think, though, that from now on I will get it. As you age, there are some problems that arise that usually don't happen when you're younger. It's always best to be prepared.

HAPPY CRUISING!!!

Thank you all. We're going to have so much fun. We're do we meet? We should have a good old fashioned get-together.

Wow! Got our docs today. Didn't expect them for a couple of weeks. RCL indicated we would get them about 2 weeks prior to sailing and here it is, a month and 5 days left, and we got them today. Woo Hoo!!!

This forum has come a long way since I first started visiting it. I haven't been a member very long but improvements are done often. Just since I've been here we've had a Chat Room installed and the improvements on the navigation menu, among other things. Thanks to Jason and everyone else who work so hard to give us a nice BB to use. It's very much appreciated.

How wonderful. Tell your son we're very proud of him. A lot of times it seems like this country doesn't appreciate what they're doing but most of us do. Unfortunately, we're not the ones with the banners and megaphones!!! Have a great time.

Welcome CS. No, my husband is pretty used to doing what I say Seriously, we've discussed it but figured the same as most people. Anything can happen anywhere and staying home because it might is losing a lot of memories of great times. When do you plan on cruising? If it's in the distant future (like six months or more) he'll probably be a little more receptive. It's the same thing when there's a plane crash. No one wants to fly but a month or so later, it's pushed to the back of your mind and you're planning your next vacation. Don't give up. Keep plugging. You'll never regret going on your first cruise. It's the best feeling ever.

I agree on the smoking bans also. There's a local restaurant in our area who had to INCREASE their non-smoking sections because they had so many non-smokers eating there. Unfortunately, the bill to ban smoking in restaurants in Ohio was defeated but it's coming. We're originally from Vermont where there's no smoking in any restaurant unless they can prove that the consumption of spirits is a certain percentage of their income. A large outcry when this was passed with the usual "we'll have to close our doors, etc" but business is booming and now families with children are eating out more because of the ban. It can only have positive effects.

Welcome back Jennifer. I'm back too....not from a cruise but from being away from these boards. I was finally able to get back on a few days ago and I've already hit 500+ posts in that short of time. I really, really, really missed the people on this board.
