Thanks for all the hints and places to check.. with only 1 City center to really fly out of we are very limited.. as driving 12 hour to another airport really isn't funtional , the 3 1/2 is more than enough..more so in the winter here.. I'll keep checking... Thanks again :smiley:

We were lucky on ours, the people were nice... at the end one couple they gave us magazines for their religion.. We accepted politely and we have emailed a few time with each couple but haven't heard from them the last time we emailed them.. I wonder what people think of us???lol.. :grin:

How scary..I'd be one of thsoe freaking out..lol..and thinking we were going over.. hope no one was seriously injured..

Ok, yes this is odd but bare with me.. we think we will be flying in/out of FLL as they so far are cheaper to do so... BUT, for us to get around to places like Zoo, Aquarium all that stuff, would it be easier for us to stay in FLL or Miami?? We have Hotels reserved in both locations as we were not sure what would be better? I will say Miami Hotel is $ 200.00 cheaper...than FLL one....same Hotel line... We MAY still get a rental car, dh is not keen on the idea.. but he hates to drive anyway..we have ordered a map so not sure what the distance is besides maping it online.. Any help would be very helpful.. Thanks again :smiley:

Thats is so good to know about "who gets off when"...I asked about this and was told you get on and off when you wish..Thought with that many people on a ship it could be scary...Thought they might have some type of system.. We have asked about a Tour with a private company...not sure what time they leave at... Thanks for the post...I'd prefer maybe to just walk around and do our own thing also. We fly out Dec 17th....I did check AA..and they are high 740.00 per person.can funds United is about 477.00..so about the same showing 2900.00 Thanks :smiley:

That's canadian....I do check Travelocity and have a fare watcher with them... Do you know what high season is for flying West - East? since its summer this way and that way, thought maybe it may go up closer to Fall.. Just wouldn't like to pay much more.. Thanks :smiley:

Yeah its a hard one.. give them space and get them to check in...but mine have never Cruised b/4..and I will say I got lost on our last cruise..I know sad isn't it..lol...I got turned around..lol..and spent more time tring to get back to where I needed too.. and didn't even get to where I wanted..lol.. I'd like them to join one of the Clubs as I hear thats a great way for them to meet other kids...and they should go the first night for sure... Safe than sorry is my motto...But I do agree the walkie talkie could end up being put down never to be seen again...lol..and yes the fighting can occur between them and 1 taking off leaving the other.. So really want a way to get a hold of them..Just incase..sort of thing.. So will hope the phones will be ok, as they are small and can be in their pockets..and we have the phones already... If not then we will get the walkie talkie and have them check in and if they don't we will then use them..as we all know kids loose track of time.. But I do thank everyone for your thoughts.. we have never flown from realy the West - East.. so unsure of prices... How soon do you buy your airfare? I know the USA has better selection for airlines so you have better chance at airfare deals.. Anyone flown from West - East? so far for 5 of us its just over $ 2800.00 Have no clue if thats a good buy or not... TIA :smiley:

I have personally tripped a number of "heathens" running in the halls at 12 midnight (sticking the leg out the door when they come your way does wonders!!!!). I have also grabbed more than one shrieking kid running around my chair and shoved them towards their stupid parents with a stiff warning to keep their "monsters" out of my space. Well if you had ever grabbed one of my children you wouldn't do it again..touching other peoples children in my book is a HUGE No-NO.... As as far as causing them injury sounds quite extreme to me, and actually quite immature..like really who is the adult here??? Causing harm to others isn't a way to solve problems.... I'm sure ship security could be called to stop such activities ?? Many parents raise kids to be respectful of others and make sure they follow the rules... Again many parents don't... But then again if you choose to Crusie during Spring Break or other high kids time, then perhaps it is you who needs to choose a better Cruise time... I will also say if my dh & I wanted a quite relaxing Cruise we wouldn't pick high season times either.. No Spring Break or near other major Holidays to try and avoid those high party times..

well ..we are going to actually tell them the opposite sort of... That they should take just as much precaution that they would do anywhere else. I think many parents think that Cruise ships are very safe and let the kids roam and do what they want... We don't think they are any safer than anywhere else... we have pretty young ladies and we will make sure we have a way to contact them ..and if they are upset by me calling to check on them, they will have a choice either that or I follow them around.... :grin: and no I am not that cool...lol.. :cool: I will say I have smart kids, BUT my ydd isn't as observent as we would like her to be...and her sister hates having to watch her..lol..typical sister love So we will work something out..again if its walkie talkies than we will make sure we don't disturb others with them.. Well sometimes people have some thoughts to how awesome a book or magazine is.. thats all... I live in a very Rural area.. and they don't carry magazines like this... But perhaps I'll ask a friend in the City to keep an eye out, as I'd like to see a copy and then decide... Thanks anyway..

Glad they worked well for you....I agree volume down and I would only try to reach them in areas that I wouldn't bother anyone... Still going to see maybe if the phones would work..or maybe get them all alarmed watches so they know if we set them to check in every 2 hours that they do...they loose track of time, and I'd be in a panick..want to avoid any heart failure by mom during the trip :smiley: Thanks for your post :smiley:

The mom gave each kid a walkie talkie and every hour she was yelling into that thing- and her kids were 16 and 14 at the time. She did it in the middle of our meals, the middle of conversations, etc. She was just obnoxious. Needless to say, we never cruised with them again. YIKES :shocked: ...No we wouldn't be using them that way, but I have been told that sometimes they are hard to hear from and you might have to get a little loud to talk.. I wouldn't ever want to interupt someone else, we are very aware that these could be used in a way that they could interfer with others enjoyment..and I know how frustrating it is when others don't watch there kids....mine would be glued to our side if they were up to anything they shouldn't be... :wink: Still waiting to see if phones will be ok.. I haven't had a chance to call.. but I think with RCI when we sailed the tipping wasn't automatic .. we will pay cash...got it all figired out what we need... and I'm sure we can do the cash way for them as I know people who don't use a credit card can just apply cash onto it... But I will double check... :smiley:

LOL..Just the kids are in the dark.....we have done this b/4 to them....we planned for an entire year for a trip to the UK, We told them we were going on a driving trip to get them to pack..then the morning we were to leave..we gave them each an envelope with a picture inside.. 1) UK flag 2) passport 3) Harry Potter.....my odd figured it out by the UK flag..... They were all in shock, as none of them had ever flown b/4..and hell whats a 18 hour trip to break them in.. so they hardly spoke for 3 1/2 hour trip to the airport..lol.. So this trip they know we are going but no clue where...we give a clue a month..lol.. Yeah we are cruel parents.. :grin: I don't think they would ever guess this .... :wink:
