Thanks I'm also checking with our cell phone company and see if they would work and at what costs as I read some places there are no roaming charges.. Might be cheaper than walkie talkies..and less annoying to others.. Keep ya posted :smiley:

Thanks for all the posts, I do agree my kids saftey is top priority..but I also know that Walkie Talkies can be quite loud inside and out to hear, thats why I thought sitting by the pool and my kids like "Mom Can you hear me mom" hello mom..lol..echo across the pool..might be a disturbance to others, I will say I am willing to follow the kids around, but my kids "teens" they want no part of it..lol.....apparently its not cool to have ME "flutter eye lashes here" I am not cool not even close....tee hee I wish our cell phones would work on board as that would be a better way...but roaming is terrible.. I will say at the dinning room we would NEVER use the walkiie talkies..tee hee Thanks everyone :smiley:

yeah it was really scary for me...but I will say and I hope nobody takes offense...but there was a group of 8 Hong Kong Tourists..and they didn't seem to bother them..so we hid in the middle of them to make our way back down the street... :wink: Not sure why they didn't bother them...but we made it back to the bus... I think also we were the first bus to arrive b/c near the end there were 4 buses coming with people... So maybe the merchants were just warming up with us.. Still I'm not good with that type of aggressive shopping...other were ok with it on our Tour.... I guess just something people are better at dealing at.. but the touching of the booty as my dh put it, was too much for me... YUCKO!!!!! :sad:

I agree, but I have never been to Mexico b/4 and this was quite a shock to me.. Even to have a group of men surround you made me feel very uncomfortable..and with such a narrow street it was very scary for me..and my dh was pushed to the side so we couldn't even see each other anymore... I don't like strange men touching my butt or grabbing at me.. but then again now I know and now I have the choice if we do a Cruise through certain Ports to stay on the ship or not even pick that itinerary. I know not all places will be like that, but at least I will go in better informed.. Knowledge is power..

Ok, I've read many people on Cruises HATE hearing kids and parents on Walkie Talkies.... We will beat into our kids heads the rules while on the ship.. BUT I'm uneasy when the girls say need to use the bathroom, not sure the other will want to follow...or they get seperated...and I don't want my son to feel he needs to watch the girls and not have fun... I mean while they are all in the arcade or something he could maybe keep an eye out.. just incase of kid trouble.. I don't want them to think b/c we are on a ship they are to let there guard down..there can be sickos on ships also.. So do I get the walkie talkies ? and have that piece of mind ? I don't want to interupt other people's Cruises either.... I'm more worried about the girls..as once they get playing or doing something they woukldn't know a building fell down around them,..lol.. We have these rules that we will set into place if you have any others can you share them: don't ever go to anyones room,EVER!!!!! don't ever leave an area that you told us you would be at without telling us.. try not to go to the bathrooms alone if your lost on the ship, ask a employee for help.. If anyone grabs you, Yell fire you'll get help faster... Don't tell anyone any personal info. like mom & dad are playing Bingo all day we are alone. Don't tell anyone your room number.. Hi Sunshineforblue We did a 4 night Cruise on RCI, there were woman in formal gowns they were beautiful..we also had men in Tux's at our table..but we also had guys in black jeans and hats...so its all what makes you feel the best.. if your getting pics done and you may not wear a certain dress again or for a long time and want a picture of yourself in it...that may help you decide.. Yeah, we are hooked ..I think you have to take each Cruise with an open mind, some problems on one ship may never happen on it again..or the same line but a diff ship.. So thats why we are booked on another Cruise in the same year,, bringing the kids this time... :wink: I think they will have lots of fun and heck when its - 50 where we live :shocked: who will dare complain about +30 temps.. right??lol.. Also I think its ok if someone doesn't like one Cruiseline.. I think your right you just gotta try diff ones to find your fit.. and heck really how bad can that be. trying diff Cruiselines.. :wink: nobody has to twist my arm..

Sounds like wonderful Cruise's no matter which one you pick.. But like you I plan things ahead too.. :wink: quite obsessive also. We are going to the UK that summer..and also have kids in school and pulling them out isn't an option at their garde level in the Spring... But I will keep checking for other 'Crazy Cruises" :smiley:
