  1. Back from the race, great time as usual, sure was hot! We even drank some water this time LOL That goodness we did have air conditioning in the motorhome, don't think we have ever ran it so much. Looks like still no excursions showing up yet, or room assignments.
  2. My husband is the Jeff Gordan fan so he probably won't pat him on the fanny I'm a Harvich fan, GF is a BIG Tony Stewart fan, and her DH has a very good friend that is on the pit crew for Rousch racing so he always cheers for their driver. This is always a big party, we tailgate (in a motorhome) for 3 days.
  3. Good morning all, heading out to Bristol TN right after work for the Nascar race this week-end. Supposed to be in mid 90's there, so we are taking plenty of liquids (Bud light & Mich Ultra). Maybe by the time we get home I will have been assigned my "suite<]" and all the excursions will be posted.
  4. I will be getting lots of free samples of these this week-end. We are going to Bristol TN for the Nascar race, they always pass out free samples. It's a southern thing for sure. I take about every kind of over the counter meds you could imagine, like to have it if I need it, and it's sooooooooo much more expensive if you have to purchase on the ship and you can't always find familar brands in ports.
  5. I did not keep the menus but I do have all the capers. Yes, it was this exact same 8 day cruise, the exact same time of year. I think we left on 2/4, it was in 2006. We loved the ship and the ports, and some other friends also wanted to go on a cruise so we had just started looking when I found "Chuck" and this group cruise, it was such a good deal, I talked to our friends and here we are. all 35 of us. One of the other couples in this group were also with us in 2006, but we had so much fun they also said they would do the same cruise again. They have cruised every year in Feb. (her birthday) for the last 7-8 years and this is the first cruise they have repeated.
  6. We did this same cruise two years ago, formal night was Sunday & Friday.
  7. I've done carriage rides in New Orleans and St. Augustine, where they did a narrative tour also, I know we paid more than $30.00 but it was also probably a 30-45 minute tour.
  8. This cruise also sold out when we took it in 2006, I don't remember being sold out quite this far out though. We also did "Guarantee" rooms on that cruise and were upgraded 1 deck. Yes, some excursions do fill up, we booked anything we really wanted to do about 90-120 days in advance and had no problems.
  9. I'm not sure who we are calling???? Chuck? Lisa? I'm not sure it's a good idea to mess with God
  10. That's a little much isn't it? I didn't remember seeing them when we were there before on Monday night and someone else said they thought they were only there on the week-end for all the departing ships. I hope they are there when we are in port, I'll have to try my negotiating skills on the price though.
  11. Great Pics....A walking tour would be too much for us...maybe a carriage or mini bus... I would really like to do a carriage ride also, I've heard they only offer them on week-ends. With 5 or 6 ships in port you would think they would offer.
  12. Not yet but you can. I'll get you a bill for your group. Somehow I knew a bill was coming................
  13. Are we supposed to send money for the shirts?????? No one ever told me how much..................
  14. Our last cruise we did a "Guarantee" room, we were assigned our room about 75 days before sailing and were upgraded one level more than we paid.
  15. Love those freebies, do you know what room you will be putting them in yet? LOL
  16. Not at all, even if we have the Daydreamer filled they have another boat Coconut if anyone is interested. They also offer 1/2 day sail. Anyone that wants a more personal day sail I highly recommend High Pockets they take a max. of 6, we sailed with Kathleen 2 years ago and had a great time with wonderful food. http://pws.prserv.net/sailhighpockets/
  17. I just added a line on the contract that "in the event the ship does not dock in St. Thomas that the cancellation policy would not apply and no charges will be incurred." Did not present a problem, we had discussed this verbally but I felt better having it in writing. We may have 6 to 8 spots available, I'll let you know for sure after our Wed. night meeting. $125.00 pp cash or $138.00 credit card (includes tip) they will have driver meet us at ship for transportation. Includes sailing to St. John, snorkeling, open bar, lite breakfast, buffet lunch. I think we are going to plan to come back about 3:00-3:30 so any that want to do some quick shopping will have a little time. Website is www.daydreamervi.com
  18. Hi Sharon To answer your question, the answer is no, trip insurance will not cover the deposit. Trip insurance cost is primarily based on the cost of air/land or air/cruise and does not include excursions. You can look at the excursion deposit as evenly divided between 30 of you, so the loss wont be as significant as if it were just you loosing the entire deposit amount ... The excursion operator wont offer a refund should the ship not arrive in port ? The $500.00 deposit will be on my credit card and the owner's wife did tell me they would not charge my credit card if the ship missed the port, but that is not in the contract. I also would feel bad that they would lose the business through no fault of their own, and on short notice, that was why I wondered if travel insurance would basically protect us both.
  19. I need help..........scenerio, I book an excursion that requires a large deposit and a 30 day cancellation notice, for some reason Carnival does not go to that port, (mechanical problems, medical emergency, weather) will travel insurance cover that deposit, that I will lose?
  20. Carnival Liberty stops in Nassau and offers an excursion "Historical Harbor Tour and Atlantis" Includes harbor tour by small boat then guided tour of the Digs in Atlantis and return boat ride to ship port. Tip: If you take this excursion schedule the earlier time, it will allow you much more time to spend at Atlantis. You return at your leisure but the last boat leaves shortly after the later tour, so not much time to wander on your own.
  21. Surely you can come up with something he would reaaalllllly like without shopping
  22. Thats sounds awesome, should increase business on some of the older ships.
  23. Hope you're up and running soon, it's sooooo lonely around here
  24. Where's the Upgrade Fairy?????? Collecting fairy dust I hope.
  25. Isn't is about time for the upgrade fairy to appear?????
