  1. LAKNARF, How nice that you'll start a new year here with us!!!
  2. Your cruise sounds just wonderful - out of my price range, but wonderful. I remember doing the Sun Viking in southeast Asia ten years ago...only six hundred passengers on board and it was totally delightful. I still visit back and forth with a couple from England who were tablemates on that cruise. They used to own a 14th century manor house ( he just retired as a British Airlines 747 pilot a few years back - they have/had a mandatory retirement at 55 ), which they sold and bought a 15th century farm house. Great friends, they've become and they welcome me with open arms. By the end of that 12 day cruise, I knew half the passengers and crew on the ship!
  3. Boozecruise06 - Cheers to you - glad you joined this band of merry folks!

  7. Dear angelokoko, We're so glad you came to join this wonderful group of cruising folks!!!
  8. Such an outstanding review. I wish so much that my budget would allow such a cruise but I don't think I'll accomplish it in this life time. Believe me, if I ever win the lottery, that will be my FIRST cruise. Thanks for the excellent write up.
  9. So far, it's going very well....a silent pager...all's right with the world.
  10. sailingrose, Have a wonderful time on the Radiance....sure hope all the good guys are still there. Look out, also, for bar server, Anthony Maynes ( he may be a bartender now ) from Jamaica. Tell him I have never recovered from his trying to take my water from me ( he was teasing! ).
  11. Deaconpapa, url=http://www.freeglittergraphics.com] Have a fabulous cruise!!!!
  12. Boo hoo...same cruise...paid in full...Santa must have gotten held up in Los Angeles because my docs didn't make it. Guess the old geezer felt my gift was cruising with Joey! Okay, okay, I'll even buy the first drink at the Schooner, Joey.
  13. Well, I usually take gifts everytime I cruise....but, for the holidays, I certainly would. Sometimes I take little containers of body butter or shower gels for the girls, from the Body Shop or a store of that kind. Phone cards are always appreciated, as are gift certificates for use at regular ports. For example, for Monarch crew, I've given a gift certificate for a San Diego restaurant not far from the ship.
  14. Gee, how come I haven't gotten MY docs yet? Well, you paid a little sooner than I did. I know I won't be in the Royal Suite this time but we will have a great time anyway.
  15. Joey, you got your docs for the Jan 14th sailing? I am so jealous I can't go then!!! But let the gang know I'll be there in a month...
  16. TM and DM - I just got home Friday and I'm raring to go again....hope you have a wonderful time! Let us know all about it as soon as you get back!

  21. howardbrown, Glad to see you here among the cruisecrazy bunch...there's always room for one more.
  22. Wherever I travel, I check out the Center for Disease Control website for immunization recommendations in countries I will visit. Also, if you're in a city like San Francisco, there are travel clinics ( the city and county of SF even has one ) which can help with recommendations ). For example, when I went to India, I got EVERYTHING suggested. Many of these shots need to be started several months ahead. And some medications, such as those for malaria, must begin before one goes to the country and continue after one returns.
  23. Dear Joey, Claire, one of the queens ( from San Diego ) mentioned going...but isn't sure yet...but we might meet for lunch in San Deigo...so maybe we'll all go out with Tonia...at the very least.
