  1. I sailed on the Norwegian Sky in August of 2008. I brought my Mother in Law and 2 year old son. We got a balcony cabin which turned out perfect for us. I loved that the third bed was the pull out couch, and not a bed coming out of the wall. This was perfect for my son. Our cabin steward was wonderful. The only issue I had was the food onboard. The appetizers were incredible, but I was not too happy with the main dishes. Maybe that's just me--lol. I would sail on the Sky again. We had a great time and my son loved the kid's pool.
  2. I live in Orlando, so it's a great option since Princess is my favorite cruise line!
  3. I am soooo happy!!! Princess Cruise Line will finally have a ship sailing out of Florida for the summer in 2010. They announced that the Emerald Princess will offer 7 night Eastern & Western Caribbean sailing roundtrip from Fort Lauderdale May 2010-September 2010. Eastern will visit Princess Cays, St. Maarten, St. Thomas & Grand Turk. Western will visit Princess Cays, Ocho Rios, Grand Cayman & Cozumel.
  4. I was wondering if anyone else has some cruise spending rituals. My Mother-in-law has to buy a magnet of the cruise ship each sailing and I always buy a post card of the ship. Does anyone else have those MUST HAVE items each cruise?

  6. I've asked for extra ice cream for my chocolate cake--that's about it!!!
  7. Princess will open bookings for 2010 & 2011 Alaska cruises on May 7th!!! I am going to try my best to book an Alaska cruise for 2011!!!!
  8. I just got back from a Bahamas cruise on the Carnival Sensation. I do have a Canada/New England cruise set for August on the Caribbean Princess. I had planned to travel on the QM2 in July, but had to cancel. We are doing a 2 week land vacation to Amalfi Coast, Italy in June to see family.
  9. I have yet to try a specialty restaurant. I've found the quality of the dining room food good enough for me. Plus, I'd rather spend $30 on some frosty drinks--LOL!!!
  10. I am a very easy going person, so just being on the cruise makes me happy!! But I would have to say, when I see the crew members going out of their way for my kids---it really means alot. I was on the Mariner a couple of years ago and every night our waiter did magic tricks for the kids. On the Sensation a couple of weeks ago our stateroom attendant left cookies and extra chocolates for my son. When the kids' are happy--I'm happy.
  11. I found it very interesting. Of course it made me want to go cruising again immediately. I got a chance to see the Norwegian Gem. It's just like the Pearl and has just about everything!! I know my kids would love the bowling alley!!
  12. I love the Ruby Princess. She is so elegant. The food is great and the kids' program is wonderful. Plus the Ruby Champagne is out of this world. I could sit in the Atrium all day, it's lovely.
  13. Congratulations on the booking. I am booked on the Caribbean Princess for August 29th to NE/Canada. This will be my first trip to New England and Canada. I think you will probably see more color on the trees since you are going in October. I can't wait for your review.
  14. A new Cruise Review is now available: Ship Name: Sensation Sailing date: 3/29/09 Author: becktours View Review
  15. I just sailed on my first Carnival cruise this week. We had a wonderful time, but I give Princess the big edge. Princess is still my favorite cruise line. You'll have a great time!!!

  19. I am on the October 24th sailing of the Sovereign of the Seas. I am also sad to see her go! She's one of my favorite ships.
  20. Norwegian Cruise Lines announced that effective January 1, 2009, service charges (gratuities) will increase to $12 per guest/per day. These charges will be applicable to all guests ages 3 and over and for sailings departing on or after January 1, 2009.
  21. Shortest was 3 nights on Sovereign of Seas and Norwegian Sky. Longest was 10 nights on Emerald Princess. I could do much longer than 10 nights though!!
  22. Thanks!! I'm so excited!! I will post a review when I return next week!!
  23. We stayed at the Embassy Suites about a half a mile from Port Everglades. We really enjoyed it!
  24. Your son would love the kids room in the Emerald Princess. They have a small rock climbing wall for the 3-6 year olds!!! We took my 2 year old in the play room and sat while he played!! He had a fantastic time.
  25. I like to pick my cabin, especially since we always need two next to each other, due to large family! However, an upgrade to a family suite would be ok!
