Has anyone tried the all inclusive cruise from Norwegian Sky? We go on Sky 2-3 times a year, but have not gone yet this year, when the all inclusive plan starys. Wondering how it works and if it is popular with guests..??

wow....more and more extra charges. A la carte? So specialty dining will now be twice as expensive. Where are the benefits? We cruise often to rise in rank, and end up spending more and more. Main diningroom food is going downhill and specialty dining which IS much better is now more expensive. Disappointing. Going to have to re-evaluate our dining experience.

I have a small orange rabbit I bought on one of the first RCCL cruises we went on. I have a picture of it ("Jesus" is his name) on every ship we have ever gone on and I keep the pictures of him in an album. No pictures of me or hubby...just the bunny. LOL

We have been on Allure 4 times and Oasis once with NO PROBLEMS!!!! No lines, no waiting, great service, great food, ....that's why we have been back 4 times!! Sorry you had this experience, but we have never had anything even close to this level of difficulty. Big ships are different, yes......but they have a much larger choice of entertainment and food too. Don't write them off just based on size.

I actually have no problem with the food in the MDR...I stick with fish, chicken or pasta amd I am always happy with the quality, taste, and presentation. That being said, I also enjoy the intimacy of specialty dining, and don't mind paying a little extra for it. To get 7 nights of free specialty dining on a brand new ship is a huge treat, and hubby and I added this to our upcoming trip. I have noticed NCL is advertising more...on TV, on the radio, and giving speicals like this...? are they hurting, or just making a play to be number 1??? Either way, I love cruising and thank you NCL for this neat perk!!!

I know Oasis and Allure have ipod docks in the cabins. Does anyone know if Getaway and Breakaway have ipod docks in the cabins?

Just called RCCL last night...they said it was scheduled to sail on Sunday as planned.......keep your fingers crossed. They said you would have been notified a week ago if it was NOT going to sail. Hope this helps. Have fun! We go on Allure on March 9, so we are concerned too!!

Going in June for our anniversary...can't wait!! Any damage from superbowl??

We have been on Allure 4 times, and specifically to see "Chicago"!!!! I guess it's a matter of taste. "Chicago" is my husband's favorite musical and I love it too. So, unless you are very sensative about the language, consider seeing this spectacular show with a multi-talented cast and Broadway level quality. I wouldn't miss it!!!

Have been to 150 on Allure twice...worth every cent!! This is an expeience of a lifetime!! Do NOT miss this!!

Oasis and Allure had this YEARS ago near the main dining room!! It was FABULOUS...but it had so many breakdowns and problems that they pulled them out...too bad. I LOVED the idea os a small tasting of new wines at a reasonable price. Hope it comes back to RCCL.

Thanks for the info...after checking futher this seems to be the case. Walkie talkies get mixed reviews too...guess there is no easy fix to the "Oasis and Allure" communication problem...just advance planning. LOL!~ a

RCCL had this on Oasis years ago when they first came out right near the main diningroom...it was really neat but the had mechanical problems and frequent breakdowns and it soon disappeared....I guess they have worked the bugs out!

Voxer has a free app for android and iphone that allows free "walkie talkie" use with others who have the app. It is a free download and says it is free to use as walkie talkie. Does this mean that on a cruise we could use it without roaming charges? Anyone have any knowledge or experience with this??

We just renewed our vows (35 years) on Norwegian Sky 2 months ago and it was fabulous!! They offer a reasonable package and treated us like royalty!! I would strongly recommend this to anyone!!

I start a loose leaf notebook for each cruise, and add print outs of things I think are interesting or that I want to try. As the cruise gets closer, I prune it down so that by the time I go I have everything I need in one place...including deck plans, restaurants, special events, excursions, etc. So easy to take this with you and have it to refer to.

For years I never got sick and took nothing more than ginger. Then...a rough sail and I was sick as a dog and miserable!! Now...I take Bonine whether I need it or not and take it every day . I have been on rough sailings since, and was fine. So even an old dog can learn new tricks!! I'll read your column with great interest. Thanks.

Not much has been said...Quantum of the Seas and some other name...not too memorable!! 4000 person ship...NOT open like Allure. More computer and digital devices...better dial up speed. That's about it.

We just got back from Allure of the seas...went to 150 Central Park restaurant where they started with a sea salt tasting...fabulous!! I want the divided salt cellar they had on the table that held 6 different salts. I have SCOURED the internet but cannot find anything even similar. HELP!! Does anyone know where I can find one?

It's like a car crash or a plane crash...there is a kneejerk reaction "I'll never cruise again" or "I'll never go on Carnival again"...but the truth is that thousands of ships sail with NO problems every year. I DO think there were other options of offloading the passengers...but because they were so close to the states, they probably figured it was easier to tow the ship in. Considering the legality, safety, and logistical problems...they probably did the right thing. I WOULD like to know how other cruise lines would have handled it...maybe they should share ideas amongst lines ....did ANYONE have an empty ship they could have sent??? Could Disney or Royal Carribbean have a ship they could have sent to bail out Carnival??
