  1. Like your brother my car sickness started as a child, car trips were torture and I didn't grow out of it. I just take a pill and climb aboard (whether it is a plane or a ship) so that I can get away.
  2. I swear by Bonine as well. I get sick in a car and plane, so when I found something that works, I don't stray from it. :)
  3. Jan, I picked up one in Target the other day when I was there. It was on the aisle with the luggage, not the travel size items.
  4. Experience is the best teacher, and watching what happened with past incidents have probably caused for special training sessions and more discussion of "what ifs." Unfortunately, things happen that are way beyond anyone's control, so preparation for those incidents and keeping passengers informed is the best they can do in a bad situation. The passengers and the persons thinking of cruising will remember and it will surely help in their decision on the cruiseline to take in the future.
  5. I, also, pack by a list and have for years now. It keeps me straight and I know when I leave that I have everything plus it reduces my stress level.
  6. Great information Jan. As you said, it seems like it is obvious but it will surely help someone along the way. I pack by the golden rule, it I can't stand to never see it again - I carry it with me or leave it home.
  7. I also noticed there were no rates posted. It will be interesting to see.
  8. Thanks for the confirmation JohnG
  9. That is a good question. The sea days are relaxing but I like to see different places and learn about them and where can you wake up day after day in a different place. I guess I am like Jan, longer cruise then you have a number of both. :)
  10. Thanks for the heads up. My cruise is in June and I was making my packing list so this helps.
  11. It looks like an awesome ship. The loft type cabins are cool.
  12. I found this link: http://www.quantumoftheseascruise.com/booknow.htm It says Crown and Loyalty members can book starting 5/28 and the general public on 6/4.
  13. Anyone runs out of tissue on a Carnival cruise right now, it would make the headlines. Yes, the ship should have been ready for the trip. I agree with you WeCruiseToo, if this had happened pre-Triumph we might not have heard about it.
  14. Great advice! The thieves are always waiting for someone to let their guard down.
  15. I am watching Trip Flip on Travel Channel, and he is taking the couple on Carnival Breeze. Grand Turk is their first stop. They appear to be having a blast! But, who wouldn't?
  16. It's good news, the media wants no part of it. If it scored low - Carnival would have been in the headlines again. It just might have made Top News for the Day.
  17. I totally agree. All parents believe their kids are adorable, but they have to realize that they are not adorable to everyone. The running and screaming that you can ignore is like fingernails scraping on a chalk board to someone else. You don't want to be that group that enters a room and people roll their eyes and say "oh no, here they come."
  18. My Dad was stationed at Camp Pendleton and yes San Diego is a beautiful city.
