Norwegian Cruise Line Freestyle Cruising presents its deployment 2006/07

Monday, May 02, 2005

NCL (Norwegian Cruise Line) published the deployment 2006/07. Two vessels, the newly built Norwegian Jewel and the Norwegian Dream, will sail around Europe. With its three NCL America vessels Pride of Aloha, Pride of America (as of July 2005) and Pride of Hawaii (as of summer 2006), the cruise company will enlarge its capacities around Hawaii. In Alaska, the Norwegian Wind will support Norwegian Star and Norwegian Sun as a third vessel. NCL will also focus further on New York as a departure metropolis: From 2006/07 two cruise resorts, the Norwegian Spirit and the Norwegian Dawn, will sail year-round in the Caribbean from/to New York.

The exclusive highlight of the season 2006/07 will be the deployment of the new cruise resort Norwegian Jewel in Europe. During the summer months, the vessel will sail the Western Mediterranean from/to Barcelona. The Norwegian Jewel will also offer twelve day cruises through the Eastern Mediterranean. "We are really pleased to introduce the modern NCL Freestyle Cruising concept in Europe on board our new flagship Norwegian Jewel", says Michael Zengerle, General Manager NCL Group Continental Europe. "With two ships then sailing around Europe there is a great potential for additional growth on the European market". The Norwegian Dream will offer twelve night cruises from/to Dover calling at the Scandinavian capitals. NCL will also expand its market leadership around Hawaii in the season 2006/07. Three vessels of the NCL America brand will cruise around the Hawaiian islands. As of summer 2006 Pride of Aloha and Pride of America will be supported by the newly built Pride of Hawaii to enlarge the NCL offer for seven day Hawaii cruises from/to Honolulu. In addition to her cruises from/to Honolulu, the Pride of Aloha will offer year-round seven night cruises from/to Kahului (Maui). The three vessels of the NCL America fleet cruise under the American flag and therefore do not need to call at a foreign port. By cruising around the four main Hawaiian islands Oahu, Big Island, Maui and Kauai NCL offers an exclusive island hopping. In the wintertime, the NCL Hawaii programme will be rounded off with ten and eleven night cruises by the Norwegian Wind.

In the summer 2006, NCL will also be strongly represented in Alaska. Altogether three vessels will start from Seattle and Vancouver to Alaska. Along with Norwegian Star and Norwegian Sun, the Norwegian Wind will offer seven day cruises during the summer months from/to Seattle along the glacier landscape.

The departure metropolis New York will gain a special focus in the forthcoming season. NCL is the only cruise line offering six, seven, eight, ten or eleven night cruises with two different cruise resorts: Norwegian Spirit and Norwegian Dawn will sail to the Southern, Eastern and Western Caribbean, Florida and the Bahamas.

Main focus of the NCL fleet in the season 2006/07 will remain the Eastern and Western Caribbean, Bermuda, South America, Panama Canal transition and Mexican Riviera. Miami, New Orleans, Houston, Charleston, New York, Boston, Santiago de Chile, Buenos Aires and Los Angeles - these departure ports are the starting points for altogether six vessels to sail towards sun, beach and sea.

For the first time, NCL will publish a Preview Brochure with all news on the deployment of the upcoming season. This brochure will be available for the premiere of the newly built Pride of America on the 4th of June.

Funny how they started that release calling their ships "vessels" then switched to "cruise resorts" then back to vessels again LOL.
