Changed order of ports?

Has this happened to you? I was checking my info on Princess cruise website. We embark on Sunday, July 15. We were supposed to dock at St. Maarten on Wednesday, July 18, and St. Thomas on Thursday, July 19. However, I received a message stating the two ports have been flip-flopped. I understand cruise lines change ports due to weather situations. Why do you think they switched the two ports? Looking at the maps, this would make sense, but why keep the old itinerary on the website? Just wondering.

There could be many factors, usually weather is one of them but obviously not this far in advance...lol

Possibly the amount of ships in each port on those days. Both ports are high traffic ports/ many ships at once.

Wow! Thanks for the quick reply, Canadian Cruiser! Your info. helps. I'm still pretty new at cruising. It will be our second cruise and we already know we're hooked for life!
