  5. I AM from food City, NYC and so far our RCI cruises I have no compliants, but on NCL I did, especially the buffet. In the speciality restaurants I liked all of the meals especially the French one, bit why pay extra? And again as I said before the service ws really lacking except in th paying venues. But I really blame that on auto tipping and freestyle, With more than 3 peolpe serving you at a meal, there seems to be a lack of communication.
  6. I know and I am so thrilled. We recently bought 100 shares just so we could get the ship baord credit, and it has gone up 10 points since we bought it! WOOHOO!
  7. Welcome! I can nit tell you about Princess as we prefer Royal Caribbean, but we have been to Alaska. And June is a perfect time to go. We went June 22 2002, the longest day of the year. It was cool but not cold, even on the Glacier. but it was a bit rainy. Wear layers as it can be cool and then warm up.
  8. After sailing NCL once after 4 RCI cruises, I like RCI better. HAL, Celebrity, and Princess would be way to laid back for me.
  9. Having been there, I know it is Hawaii, Oahu!
  10. Nothing that is the same until I have tried them all. I hate to get into a rut, that is soooo boring. We have done Bermuda, Alaska, S Caribbean, Bahamas, Hawaii, next up Panama Canal!
  11. RCI does it for me... a perfect fit
  12. We spent 5 days precruise in Oahu. We just rented a car. The other couple we cruise with have been there many times. We did the Diamond Head hike to the top, that is a must see. But it is not an easy trek. Doable but make sure you bring water. We also did the Luau at Paradise Cove, that was fun. Email me for link to my pictures, I have many up on webshots.
  13. I do lots of surveys and a number of them pay me $5 for each one.
  14. The one in Aruba had very good food. We ate dinner there one night. It ceratinly is an all our party atmosphere.
  15. You have to pay now to take a tour of the aqarium. But it is not that expensive.
  16. We had a tablemate from Hell. But the problem is that I had met another couple on a roll call and we arranged to sit together along with our other 2 constant cruise buddies. Then this other couple was also chatting with another couple from the roll call board and invited them to join us. The husband was nice and on the roll call the wife seemed really nice. But when we had them in person, she complained about everything. So much so that the late night in Aruba Phil & I ate in Carlos & Charlies, and the other couple at ate at Portofino's for thier anniversary, leaving our 2 cruise buddies with them. But the husband cruise buddy will not pay extra for a meal and likes to be waited in so he even eats breakfast in the DR. So he opted to put up with them . And one night the horror ate at Portofino's also. So we had 2 night respite from them. If I could have changed the table I would have, but how do you uninvite someone? The waiter even got mad at her the last night. I am surprised he waited so long! I have no doubt they undertip ( if at all) so he could have said it earlier! The other couple is now one of our friends so I did not want to abandon them either. So sometimes you have to put up with it.
  17. Years ago I had frequent UTIs. But at that point I had never been in a hot tub. There are so many ways of getting them. If you want to email me atabridalmaven######, I can give you some advice that my doc gave me. I have NOT had one in more years than I remember, and not only do I go in the ones on the ship, but the one at my health club a few times a week.
  18. Oh my yes, I had to force myself to actually cook a meal!
  19. Since I started LCing I have not gained an ounce on 2 cruises. I plan to keep it that way this time also.
  20. Thanks, I am packed and ready to go! My DH is another thing  , he always waits for the last minute to pack! I will give you a good review after I return!
  21. I left the clothes in Hawaii under the tip so the maid would know it was done on purpose! Besides, my clothes are in such great shape, it was almost hard to leave them, but hey I like the smaller sizes!
  22. We are looking at either the Serenade repositioning cruise in Panama canal in April or the Brilliance in June to the mediterranean.
  23. I did that in Hawaii. Since I have been dieting my wieght has been changing and clothes got to big. So I left ones that were slightly big on me.
  24. I would sooner give up the higher price frou -frou drinks. those are a waste of my money, so to each his/her own.
