It's been some time since we were on Splendour, but we loved the ship. Splendour and her sister ship Legend of the Seas, are our favourite class of ship. The pools are heated, they pass the water through heat exchangers on the engines, kinda like the radiators on your car.

Yes you will need long pants to skate. On Voyager, our granddaughter didn't have any and ended up using her pajamas! This maybe too late for you to read, but have a great cruise. The Voyager class ships are truli awesome. We sail Adventure in August.

I guess we have been lucky, but we have cruised many times and never ever noticed that situation. I have to admit that I've never really looked, but at our tables and the adjacent ones, we've never seen it. I didn't even know that it existed until I started on these boards. But then, naive me always figured that wearing jeans on Country Western night was Ok and I had no idea how many people were so incensed by my lack of taste and how many cruises I had ruined. However, back to Harry's original question. I think that if you have other plans for the evening, you should inform your table partners and the dining room staff, absolutely no doubt, dining schedules are so tightly set that it would be a dis-service to all. If you have a problem with your dining room partners, that's your choice, but you have a definite obligation to the dining room staff. Just my opinion, and it doesn't matter if you're wearing blue jeans or a tuxedo, being courteous and considerate should be the norm.

I'm confused as to what the original question was, but, we did Tahiti on Princess cruiseline's Tahitian Princess. I believe it was Renaissance's R4, sister ship to R3. You can see our photos at http://community.webshots.com/user/jbond105/2 under tahitian princess 1 & 2. The ship was really Mickey Mouse, but the ports were wonderful.

We just spent a week in Kauai. We had a great time. The hotel was really impressive and the weather was perfect. We did a lot of sightseeing, drove almost 400 miles. We did a cruise up the Na'Pali Coast which was excellent. The cliffs look as impressive from the sea as they do from the air (helicopter). Fern Grotto was really beautiful. We were a little disappointed in Hanalei, made us happy that we chose the south end of the island, Poipu, to stay. We rented a Mustang convertible and really had a great time with it. I posted our photo album at http://community.webshots.com/user/jbond105/3

Yes, but "Several of our callers had even been on cruises before".

That's a real shame. I kinda know how you feel. We were packed and ready to go to the airport for a Med cruise when 9/11 happened. Our cruise was cancelled for very different reasons, but the annguish and disappointment are the same. Better luck next time, the Hawaii cruise is very enjoyable. We did it on Radiance a couple of years ago.

It's Mismaloya, just south of Puerto Vallarta. The restaurant there, Night of the Iguana, shows the movie daily. Just a little inland from there is El Eden, where they filmed the movie "Predator".

My swim trunks have a zippered pocket in them. I just keep my money, credit card and ship's card in my pocket. Everyone takes wet money. On the ship, they will probably sell small containers, about the size of a pack of cards. They're waterproof and have a strap that you can use to put them around your neck. They cost about $1.50

Today was one of those days to die for. 75 degs, beautiful blue skies and surrounded by snow capped mountains. I spent the morning outside, pruning the roses and the buddlia. The daffodils are in full bloom and the lilac are just about ready to pop open. It really doesn't get too much better than this. The really great thing is, the long range forcast is more of the same.

We've been in Mexico twice on Cinco de Mayo, once in Cozumel and the second time in Puerto Vallarta, and the only people celebrating were Americans. It's a holiday in Mexico, but it doesn't seem to get the same attention as here in the States. We've sailed Legend of the Seas once and her sister ship Splendour twice. I like the Vision class ships. They are a nice size and very well laid out. Their only drawback is they don't have a Concierge Lounge. Hopefully, one will be added to Enchantment during the stretch.

When we have done BTB's, we have always treated it as a port day. We have changed sign & sail cards, but have done that through the pursers desk. No big problem. No packing, for sure.

What do they say "Mad dogs and Englishmen"? So, I hope that it was 40 miles north of London. I was born in Manchester, lived there for 31 years. Man United forever. God Bless Man City for holding Chelski to a draw, Fergie should send David James a case of champagne. I'm sure you'll have a great cruise. RCI sells Boddingtons, didn't find that on Princess, you'll probably have to settle for the official beer of the Premier League, Budweiser. Pretty good and really cheap here in California. Cheers mate.

On all our Princess cruises, we have never found them to be very eager to confiscate booze being brought back on board. If you are discrete, you should have no problem. You can also buy liquor by the bottle through room service to drink in your room. If your cruise is in the Caribbean, your son should have lots of company his own age. Where about in the UK are you from?
-
My impression is that they are not that strict and unless he makes a scene, nobody will question it. He will probably not be able to buy drinks himself because he will have to use his sign and sail card. Have a great cruise on Sea Princess. We've sailed her twice and spent a lot of time in the Sea View Bar at the back of the ship.

On RCI you can drink/purchase beer and wine at age 18. You have to be 18 at embarkation.

If you book it with the cruise line, no problem. If you are booking it with a private party, I don't think that it's a good idea, especially if it's a tender port.
