  1. Joey-one of the benefits of working the late night shift is that I can sleep any time any place, even sitting up, and I am a great napper!!! Jeff-If I had to lift a frozen thingee for everyone left behind I might not make it out of NY harbor    ps only 10 1/2hrs till the drive, 20 1/2 till there is nothing but water beneath my feet!!!
  2. I don't know about the rest my cruising partners but I am just about to lose it, 24 1/2 hours till the ship leaves the pier. About 14 hours till I leave the house for the drive down. Why do the last day or two seem to take so long?
  3. Don't worry about the photos of us as we are going to be all together, total of 14 of us, all sorts of things planned!!! More than half the group have opted to rent scooters(Cruise Crazy Motorscooter Club) Of course there will be the group pics from formal night, and I will try and sneak in some of the late night dancing   With the exception of Maria and Ken all of our cabins are close to each other. And what a group this should be!!! I almost feel sorry for my youngest(16yr old) he'll have to chase down someone to hang around with, whereas my daughter is bringing her boyfriend so they will have to keep themselves occupied. The rest of us are close enough in age and background we should have no problems finding things to talk about!! Right now I am about to start counting down the hours till we leave, they are calling for clear and warm weather for our departure out of NYC and the weather in Bermuda looks as if will be mostly clear and warm.
  4. Maria it is almost unfair that by going to your daughters in NJ your vacation has been extended a few days with the joys of visiting family!!! Whereas I worked my last day(night) Saturday and have been running errands for everyone else. Most of our group will work till tomorrow and one will work till 6:30am Thursday morning, we are starting the drive at 7:00 and should be at the pier by 1:00.
  5. I also had the paper this morning and that article really caught my eye, thanks Joey for cutting and pasting, the best I could do was get a link to the article.
  6. Joey if I did this right here is a link to the article reprinted in the Boston Globe. http://www.boston.com/news/local/connectic...hips_cut_prices?
  7. Jennifer - Our last cruise I wore a suit and tie and fit right in, this time I bought a tux (JC Penney), very nice looking for the price. After trying it on my youngest said that he wanted to dress for formal night, at 16 with some more growing to do I opted to find a less expensive alternative to purchasing new. On ebay I found a site that sells rental tuxs at a very good price, so I ordered him one, when it arrived I was just amazed!!! This tux looked fantastic, with shipping and handling it only came to $84, I did have to have the pants lengthened so add another $5. When my daughter boyfriend saw what it looked like he figured that what the heck and he ordered one also(with dds' approval of course). It came in and it looked fantastic also! I'll post pics when I return from Bermuda.
  8. Welcome back, seems as if you found the silver lining in those rain clouds
  9. Our upcoming cruise to Bermuda was the result of an unexpected email from Carnival. It was more of an earlybird special instead of a last minute deal.
  10. When you check out Southwest on their site they have cruises also, maybe you can have it ding you for that!!
  11. As I said to Mebert Congrats on the early arrival of the DOCS, as we are also dancing with you!! And yes let us all know how it is out of Bayonne, it's just a 5 hour drive for us.
  12. Mebert it seems as if the DOCS are arriving early, we are all dancing together!!!!
  13. With just over thirty day left to go till Bermuda, I recieved our Docs today. Well not only did I get mine but I have almost everyone elses in our group, so feel free to join in and do a group Doc dance!!!!   Maria when you get a chance - contact me!!!
  14. When I mentioned to a friend of mine that I had bought a tux for our upcoming cruise, I told him that personally I enjoy getting dressed up. Of course it is very rare that I am seen in and around wearing anything but blue jeans, tee shirts, and leather jacket. At work it is just the standard uniform! This just gives me a chance to do something I don't normally do!! And again, if you feel comfortable with what you are wearing then go for it!!!
  15. Carnival has a topless deck?? I must have missed that !!!
  16. Our cruise to Bermuda is coming up in 35 days and the shopping fever has hit hard, what better time to justify new clothes. I figured that since the price was right I might as well buy my own Tux. Ordered it last night should be here by friday. When we were on the Valor last January there were quite a few couples dressed in tux and gown, everyone looked great!!! Where we live there are very few chances to dressup. It is all a personal choice as it is your vacation!
  17. On the lighter side of this discussion, many years ago I went to Martinique(Club Med), and was introduced to the thong and speedo type swimsuit. I hate to say it but there are alot people out there who shouldn't wear those type of suits  . This was in the late 70's and since then I believe that only athletes and models should wear them, not your average person, some things are better left to the imagination  On the serious side having younger children around it is not always advisable, its that kind of world we live in.
  18. Congrats on the DOC dance, we should be doing ours real soon!!!
  19. J&J - It seems that Carnival is trying to go to Bermuda again, we are on this years and Mebert has booked the same cruise next year! And OH YEA! are we happy about the balcony
  20. Looks like they buried a ship right in front
  21. I wish that the was the case, and if it was your next cruise would be in the Penthouse suite!!!! Just luck of the draw I suppose!!!!
  22. That's good news!!!! Sure beats taking a loss!
  23. How is this for an upgrade - Cat 4A inside cabin(steerage as some would call it) I call it the rowing section  on Carnival to Bermuda(41 days)  to a Cat 7A balcony w/obstructed view. The lifeboat is just under the balcony, can't really look down but we can look out. This was for six cabins not just one WOW!!!!!! Anyone ever hear of this happening before? Is this a good thing or what?
  24. Congrats on the new booking gymbrat, don't forget to use Carnival CC and start racking up those extra points for the free cruise.
  25. popsec - I hope that you don't lose too much on your buy back of the trailer, but it will be worth it in the long run. BTW Welcome to Cruise Crazies!!!
