  1. Listen to Joey - Just keep asking questions as you will get many responses, and as we always say "There is no such thing as a dumb question". Also we all have our own ideas on how to achive nirvana(cruise  ). Personally I like to plan everything out myself, first by figuring where to go, then how much I want to spend. Since we don't live close to any major ports airfare is a consideration in the overall plan. Welcome to Cruise Crazies!!! and what part of Denver? My DIL is from Littleton!
  2. Although that is our preferred destination, vacation schedule doesn't work as well. We are still looking into the Triumph leaving Miami on 13 January- San Juan, St Maarten, St Thomas. Again there are always variables that can change! Just looked at the Carnival site(haven't talked to Jennifer in a couple of days) and it looks like the Legend has no S. Carib. cruises scheduled in Jan of '07!?
  3. I didn't say no convention, just that things have to be rearanged, will try and set departure date or arrival date around the 19th of Jan!! Still not sure exactly what happened, but the Legend is not going to Southern Carib. with us on it  , looking at maybe Eastern w/San Juan, St Marteen. Probably a 7 day w/time in Fla before and/or after
  4. Maria - Talked to Jennifer today and guess what, the cruise that we were looking at has been bought out!? She wasn't sure what happened but it is no longer available. We are still looking at taking one at that time, it is a good time to get out of the cold, prices are right, and it is easy to get time off. I'm sure that we can discuss it over dinner in April.
  5. Maria - One of the other couples that are coming with us to Bermuda also expressed an interest in this cruise! Joey - We were thinking about staying over the extra day after the cruise so we wouldn't have to rush back like we did last year, relax after the vacation before we return to the reality of working life  I don't think that my counter is working, as I am sure that I've gone over the 1000 mark
  6. Okay Joey since by now I know that you plan things out well in advance, have you thought about where in Ft Lauderdale you will be staying before you depart, or will you be flying in and boarding the ship that day? A group get together would be fun, wether it be a dinner after our cruise and before yours, or breakfast sometime that day.
  7. Joey I thought that you were buying breakfast drinks for all before you boarded your ship:grin: Maria - You know what they say about great minds thinking alike
  8. Are we going to be cruising buddies or what? Look at the thread where Joey and David will be in Fla at the same time, we would be returning and they are leaving the same weekend!!
  9. Thought that I would start this thread since I've already checked dates and prices. So far I would be booking two maybe three cabins, we're not taking everyone with us this time, couldn't afford it  We are taking another new cruiser though!!! And is she ever excited!!! This cruise will leave Jan 11 '07 and return Jan 19 just in time for the get together with other Crazies in Ft Lauderdale!! More info to follow!
  10. J&J we are sailing on the Legend(Carnival) not quite a new ship, but we will let you know all about it in time for your cruise! Maybe we'll leave little hidden notes on the island  give you something to look for!!! Kind of like a scavenger hunt, or a hunt for buried treasure!!!
  11. It would be something to keep in mind as they have another planned for next year same time, same ship!!! We'll keep you posted
  12. We'll be there three weeks before you, so if there is anything that is new and exciting we will let you know!!!!
  13. I will have to agree with mrsogni the Valor is a beautiful ship, we did the same cruise Jan 05 so no help with the weather. Welcome to Cruise Crazies!!!
  14. We pay the deposit at booking then space the payments out till the final payment is due. No ryhme or reason to the amount, just what is available when I decide to make a payment, except the last one is the total balance that they tell me is due
  15. I found out a few months ago that when you visit certain countries they won't let you give blood for a year from that date. I would have all my vacinations up to date, remember some of the places that you might stop at are still third world countries.
  16. Have a great time!!! Take plenty of photos!!!And have FUN,FUN,FUN,FUN!
  17. When you are sitting at a table for ten it isn't a holiday and none of them are relatives!
  18. Sounds like an interesting person, likes to eat, drink and stay up all night. Then turn around and do it again!!! My kind of guy.
  19. Sister in-law to Shirley U Jest? For Joey - "Good nite Chris"
  20. This has to be one of the better discussions that we have had in a long time!! And I agree with Joey we do it with grace. Joey who is Grace?
  21. Great disscusion here about what should and shouldn't be done, Cunard like most major companies is doing what they do best, damage control. Is it right? Have they satisfied everyone? Is their customer service up to snuff? Doubtfull on all counts, but you can't please all of the people all of the time!! I'm sure that we are hearing from the most vocal of the passengers and not all, the squeaky wheel gets the grease.
  22. I cured some of my boredom today by making final payment on Bermuda cruise in April!!!!!  The thing is that the weather here has been horrible, cold(very) snow(lots), then it turns warm for a day or so and rains, now it is snowing again  I keep thinking of last year at this time, we were just finishing our cruise to the western carib. So along with everyone else I've been searching for the next one, seriously looking at southern carib., almost the same itinerary as Joey and Davids last cruise except in January!!! Have to break up the winter
  23. Welcome tbaby, glad that you found us and have already had most of your questions answered. We did Carnival Valor last Jan and found that the dress code for the day is pretty much comfortable clothes, breakfast and lunch are served for a general time frame no set seating. Buffets every nite and midnite buffets (bring expandable pants) pizza 24/7 or in your case 24/4  Now for the penthouse suite you'll have to ask someone else, we book the rowing section of the ship
  24. Just one to Bermuda on the Legend out of NYC in April with teacp and her friends and 10 others from northern NY  Looking into 2007 right now!!!!
  25. Great photos, now I know you had a good time!
