When I first saw the news reports about no gels, lipstick, lotion, toothpaste, etc...I thought it would be a headache but hopefully only a temporary one. I like the thought of having my toiletries in the cabin with me. At least I would have the bare essentials in my possession in case the rest of my luggage gets routed to Timbuktu. When they pointed out no drinks, I was really hoping these increased measures would only be temporary. I always find myself very thirsty during flights and always have at least a couple of bottles of water in my carry-on. I guess I will just have to pace myself with that thimble-sized cup of water the flight attendant will serve me. That TSA link you posted, Joey, makes this sound like a long term change. I understand taking the extra precautions to ensure a safe flight. I'm just venting a little about yet another way these terrorists are affecting our everyday lives.

Soooooo many questions......so few details. How does the suit know if you are a fair skinned redhead who burns after 15 minutes in the sun or an olive skinned brunette who could endure a bit more time in the sun without burning? If the beep is set to go off for the "average Jane", the redhead is gonna get fried. I think I'll stick with sunscreen and common sense, thank you.

We have a ballpark figure, and we usually come in under budget but we are not as detailed as Joey or some others.

After squeezing past those who stop 3 feet inside the lobby door to ogle the atrium.... :shocked: :grin: we head for our cabin. After checking out our cabin and balcony, if we are hungry we head for the buffet. Otherwise, we unpack our carry-on bags before heading out to explore the ship. After the muster drill we grab a drink and head up to the Lido deck for sail away.

Too bad they can't limit the cell signal to only work inside passenger cabins. While I do appreciate the ability to contact family back home while at sea, I wouldn't think of carrying on a conversation in a public area of the ship.....Well, maybe I would read the menu over the phone to the people back home...and describe the show in the lounge....and the art during the art auction... just kidding...

T-shirts, shot glasses and magnets. We also try to find some local art, glass, etc...to bring back. We don't typically bring back any alcohol although next time we are in St Marten we will bring back some guavaberry liquor. One of my co-workers was raving about it after her last cruise.

We are doing a land vacation next month. Myrtle Beach. I just wanted to go be a beach bum for a few days. That is one drawback to cruising for me. Not enough time on the beach itself. Don't get me wrong. I am crazy about cruising....just sometimes I want to stay and play on the beach a little longer.

We have never had an inside room and probably would not sail if we couldn't have at least an outside window cabin. Our preferred cabin is a balcony cabin. It is so nice to sit out there in the morning with a cup of coffee while waiting for everyone to get ready for breakfast ...or in my robe if I didn't get to the shower first. It is also nice to sit out there for a while in the evening before going to bed.

No problem loading the photo show here. Thanks for posting them. While there are so many beautiful shots, my favorite was the "green tongue" picture. It is such a fun shot. She could be the poster child for the Hawaiian Shave Ice industry.
