  1. Exactly. The government would have a large hand in everything done in that direction.
  2. Same here. Unless there is some thing to do ashore - no rush off the boat. I only remember tendering in Grand Cayman and Mexico.
  3. Just waiting till the current government goes away till the opening of the ports there. No No for now. I would bet at least 3 stops in Cuba. Jamaica will have dried up if they open there.
  4. And you wonder why I bring my own Rum.......
  5. 1 - That is a great picture Jeanie. I am also like you. Easygoing...... As long as the people I am with are happy about what is doing on their cruise - So am I.
  6. They did do eggs benedict in the Solstice Buffet area. How good they come out there is up to you finding out.
  7. I try to make it to the main dining room at least twice a cruise for the AM. And almost always the last day of the cruise. Just want to get in that last chance to sit and be waited on. We also did the brunch on Solstice when they offered it. And twice for lunch each cruise. Other than that it is early morning coffee drop off in the room for those who need it after I come back from workout. Then upstairs for buffet breakfast. It is interesting. When we were on Zenith or Horizon I just about always sat outside. Same for Century, Galaxy and Mercury. But on the Millie ships and the Solstice I have not moved outside in the am that much.
  8. Well....Try the one in Jamaica.... Then get back to us.
  9. What's the big deal about coffee - and on vacation no less. That keeps you awake and alert. Who wants any part of that on vacation. Just let me have Rum...............
  10. Yes. Bermuda is the best port of call I have ever cruised to. Would go back there in a heart beat. I think we were there at least 16 to 20 times. Always grreat place to go - walk - and feel relaxed and safe at all times.
  11. Always brought and leave the extra with the cabin steward as part of his tip.....
  12. They have been saying this for too many years Joey. The people who the ships benefit do not care enough to get things cleaned up like the Bahamas did in the early 80's. This last time there I was running on the side of the road - wearing a Jamacian shirt for soccer. And 2 drivers - when there was no one on the other side almost hit me. Not my fun port. Then the constant selling when they were contracted to just take us to town. Then dropping at the wrong place - their friends stop..... Then the trying to sell when not near a market or tourist area.... and on..... and I do not remember seeing any police about. The problem being the ships have to stop somewhere in the Western Caribbean. You can only take Mexico and Grand Cayman so many times before it is played out. So the cruise lines are stuck there till new ports open - Cuba - when the Castro brothers call it a day. I could see the lines operating out of 3 ports there and maybe a port like beach setting in the west. Saves the lines $$$$ in operating costs going from any port in Florida.
  13. I still think Celebrity sgould have different things in the place where they do the glass creation demos on Solstice. Something different for each ship to make it unique.
  14. Jamaica is at the bottom of my revisit port of call list.
  15. Is there currently a port area the ships use. I do not see a lot of cruise ships going out of LA. I woud guess they will adjust the harbor and docking areas. That involves dredging and toxic soil removal.
  16. Nice review - thank you. Where did the bear get to????

  19. Ahhhh............ Hello........ Your on vacation....... Break from the norm. Have that extra drink or two. Moon the harbor pilot when he comes along side. They can't tell one bare butt from another anyway.... At least that's what I'm told.

  21. 1. A tourist at a top African game lodge overlooking a waterhole, who spotted a visibly aroused elephant, complained that the sight of this rampant beast ruined his honeymoon by making him feel "inadequate". 2. A woman threatened to call police after claiming that she'd been locked in by staff. When in fact, she had mistaken the "do not disturb" sign on the back of the door as a warning to remain in the room. 3. "The beach was too sandy." 4. A guest at a Novotel in Australia complained his soup was too thick and strong. He was inadvertently slurping the gravy at the time. 5. "Topless sunbathing on the beach should be banned. "It is your duty as a tour operator to advise us of noisy or unruly guests before we travel." 16. "I was bitten by a mosquito - no-one said they could bite." 17.
