I suppose the cova cafe is the coffee spot??? If so, i am sure you will find us there. Paul is a big coffee nut. me, i am a newbie to the coffee scene but we do love to sit and enjoy the relaxing, people watching scene. wow.... for such an active vocal group, it has gotten pretty quiet lately. how is everybody doing? I never watch the Bachelor but it is filmed in rome, so I have it on to see if I can see the sights. The travel station....Passport to Europe show had hidden venice on this weekend. I still can hardly believe we will be there next month. We have a bulletin board at work that the staff wants to dedicate to my trip. with a map and daily itinerery- so that they can have a visual. They are also hoping I will send them postcards. anyone now if the ship sells the postage and sends the cards for you or would we have to do that while in port? well, i did a first run pack and managed to keep bag under 44 lbs. But i do think we will have to pay for an extra bag- there is no way we can bring formal clothes in our bags. I get myself so nervous when it gets this close to the trip. we leave in 12 days.... it seems that instead of crossing things off of my list, i am creating more things to do. :sad: Oh well, it always gets done and once I am at the airport and bags checked, i will relax :smiley: Hope everyone is havinga good weekend. ok,ok.... enough already. you are torturing me :grin: :grin: :grin: today, it was so cold this morning I wore my leather jacket to work. At least today we have sunshine after two solid days of rain. Joey.... yes the 44 lbs is a pain. All but two flights allow 2 bags /each- 50 lbs each bag but... the flight from Tel aviv to Barcelona is restricted to one 44lb bag each and the flight from Venice to Dublin has the same restrictions. We will do our best. We may end up paying extra. ( I have heard it is 5 euros per kg over limit on Aer lingus. Don't know about Air Europe- kind of steep :sad: )We will see. Thinking of having our suit bag as a carry on. it is a trifold and pretty small when folded- should work. Would rather be able to chack it but if we can get by using it as a carryone, we will. ... just so we are not so limited. Thanks everyone for your experiences using the downy product. think i will just pass on bringing it. Well, just had an unexpected expense. Our hot water heater went on the fritz and leaked all over the basement. Yuk- what a mess. But it could have been worse and happened when we were gone. i am so glad i will have hot water tonight and will be able to take a shower. Always something. have good evening everyone. Gail

I officially have our doc in hand. picked them up this afternoon form our TA Wow, it really is coming up quickly now. This weekend will be the trial pack. To make sure we can keep under our lweight limit. We will be allowed only one 44lb bag per person for two parts of our trip. that will be tough to do. Question... has anyone ever used downy wrinkle out product?

Thanks diane- i did have that info. when rereading my info, i believe i have figured out bus stops etc if we decide to go to the Cap de ferrat to visit the rothschild villa in addition to visiting Eze. I will take along all the bus schedules and info and have a few plans for the day and we will decide based on weather and how we feel what we will do for the day. i am now looking at the Athens info. Looks like a long walk from port to metro. trying to see if there is a bus to the metro. i hear the taxi drivers like to rip off cruise ship passengers trying to ge to the metro only. I am also trying to decide if we want to stick to going to acropolis and plaka and not bother with other athen sites. I found there is a tram that goes along the coast, that looks interesting. anyone doing this port on own? any definitive plans if you are not taking a tour? Gail

Hi Everyone Anyone have any information or first hand experience with visiting St Jean Cap de Ferrat, in particular Villa Ephrussi de Rothchild? It looks like there is a bus (81) from VF ....but i don't see where you catch this bus. I have directions for the 100 bus to Nice but not eh 81. We are considering visiting the villa. It looks beautiful. We may go to villa, then Nice, then Eze and then back to VF. Here we leave for our vacation in 3 weeks and i am still trying to make decisions. You would think at this point i would have decided already. :smiley: Thanks for any info Gail

just got back this evening. i am so sorry to be telling you that my Dad passed away on Friday, the 15th. I feel both sad and relieved. He had been sick for such a long time...I know he is a I know she has some tough days ahead of her- she had been his primary care giver for so long. They would have been married 62 yrs on Oct 8th. Quite a love story the two of them.... until the end, my Dad called Mom his bride.... well, i just wanted to let you guys know. thanks for listening. Gail

thanks everyone for your wonderful words of support. it means a great deal to me.... Diane, we are trying to get tickets for 11/12. We do not leave Venice until 830pm on the 12th- so thought it would be nice to do after we check out. i imagine we will be able to stor our luggage at LO. i forgot to mention the site we were using is tickitaly.com Tonia, we arrive around noon on the 27th and are staying at the same hotel you guys are- if we meet up, you can hang with us if you want. We will be flying in from Tel Aviv so we will be tried only because we will have had to be at the airport at 3am to check in- not as bad as jet lag. Thanks for smuggling us off for the tours and taxi share. We may find we like hanging out with the elite crowd in CC :grin: Gail
