  1. Cruise Question of the day [/size] What could ruin your cruise vacation ? aside from the obvious of getting ill..
  2. I was in San Juan for a 5pm arrival on the Victory and hubby and I did a carriage ride, they are right in the market square area and it was a Tuesday evening, a 15 minute ride was $ 30.00 for the 2 of us.....
  3. On my first cruise a few years ago I booked an Oceanview GTY, and when we arrived at the pier the ported who took my luggage notice there were no tags on my bags as I was about to tell him, lol the luggage tags are very important since they also indicate ship name...lol The porter had a passenger list/manafest in his back pocket, he told us our cabin #, we had the sticky type of address labels to attach to the tags, and he wrote the cabin # on it for us..... We didnt even realize until we were on the ship that we had been upgraded to a balcony cabin...
  4. St. Thomas and St. Marten always have at least 8 ships in port at each time..... Heck when I was in St. Marten there were 9 ships and once on land you seriously wouldnt know it...
  5. Sherry Does the "cowboy " jacket still fit ? Does he have pants and shoes to wear ? I think you can rent a tux once on board, I am sure in some of the capers it mentions, the formal shop if wanting to rent a tux, I would not fret one bit over how he is dresses for formal night, let him dress how he is comfortable, and if that jacket still fits, wear it... Go and enjoy your cruise.
  6. Hey Everyone, Just wanted to pop in and let you all know I am still alive and haven't left town for my big adventure just yet.. just tied up at the moment, will try to check in again tomorrow...
  7. Hi Sharon To answer your question, the answer is no, trip insurance will not cover the deposit. Trip insurance cost is primarily based on the cost of air/land or air/cruise and does not include excursions. You can look at the excursion deposit as evenly divided between 30 of you, so the loss wont be as significant as if it were just you loosing the entire deposit amount ... The excursion operator wont offer a refund should the ship not arrive in port ?
  8. It's Sunday, why are all of you people up so early ?
  9. The Undocking of the "Norwegian Gem" at Meyer Werft is planned for August 12th 2007. Upon completion of tests and engine trials the 93,500 gt cruise ship NORWEGIAN GEM will leave the covered building dock of MEYER WERFT on Sunday, 12 August. Undocking of the ship, which is built for the American cruise operator Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), will start around 7.45 a.m. If weather conditions are favourable, the manoeuvre will be finished within a couple of hours. Meyer Werft add that changes of the undocking procedure may occur due to weather conditions! With the ship being berthed at the outfitting pier, outstanding work will be completed on board. The River Ems passage of the newbuilding to the sea trials port in Eemshaven/Netherlands is planned for mid September 2007. The company say a detailed schedule will be published soon. The new luxury liner has a length overall of 294.13 m, is 32.2 m wide and reaches a speed of more than 24 knots. More than 2,400 passengers can be accommodated in 1,197 cabins and are taken care of by a crew of about 1,100. NCL GEM
