I truly believe that if we hadn't been so anti-biotic for all of those years, we all might have stronger immune systems. With that being said, isn't it sad that simple cleanliness is the key to good health!!?

What gets me is back in 2005 we had to get a passport for cruises. NONE and I mean NONE of the ports that we visit will even stamp the darn things! Great advise you guys.

We have been getting swamped with postcards telling us what we have won. I called one of them to see what the spiel was. The cruise was free, but I had to pay fees to get the paperwork done. The fees would cost more than the cruise. Good thing I didn't give my real information on the phone or they would still be calling me. Thanks for the reminder Jan. Anything that looks to good to be true - IS!!!

I'll reserve my comments to "let's see what this entails" based on the very many strategic planning groups that I have been on and the sheer lack of follow through. Perhaps governments outside of the US do things more diplomatically.

On our first Hawaii cruise, we stayed 3 extra nights in Oahu. We had a blast. We rented a car and spent most of the time driving around the island. We did the Diamonhead trail the first day; Pearl Harbor the next, North Shore the last. Found some great off the beaten path restaurants as well as outdoor craft places. On the second Hawaii cruise, we took the city bus and had the time of our life! I think the total cost was $4 a person and this bus let us get on and off all day long. I agree that this island is a bit more commercial than some of the other Hawaiian islands, but aren't a lot of the Caribbean islands store-store-store???

I've noticed where Montigo Bay is being added back on more itineraries. Any one been there recently? All I know about it are the all-inclusive resorts.

Just read an article where Celebrity Cruiseline is bringing Tucson based Canyon Ranch to their spas and fitness centers. This will be the third cruiseline that Canyon Ranch is venturing out to. Makes me want to sit back and say hmmm...

All of this sounds so high tech, when in reality it is what it is. It continues to amaze me as to how innovative we are and how fast! I wonder what's next?

The rates still seem reasonable to me. I'm guessing liability and insurance has forced them to up the ante

We loved the Splendor when we were on her a few years back. We also loved San Juan. Stopped there 3 separate cruises. My sister and her family stay there almost every Thanksgiving. They tend to use name brand hotels. I think you should be able to find something online that offers transportation at least from the airport to the hotel or hotel to cruiseport.
