  1. Hi Haze -- and welcome to Cruise Crazies!!!
  2. Congratulations on the documents! You'll be boarding before you know it.
  3. I have a hard-cover spiral notebook that I bring on cruises. I take a few minutes each day to jot down my thoughts. I usually write in the morning, early afternoon, and just before going to bed in the evening. I always tell people that it's easy to spot me on a ship as I'm the one with the notebook. One of our neighbors does something very clever. He buys a regular notebook -- one of those hard-covered black/white ones that we used in grade school -- and jots down his notes on the right-hand side of the book only. He writes their location (latitude/longitude), weather, as well as what he did that day. After he's home and has his photos developed, he affixes those to the left-hand side pages to correspond to what he had written. They store easily and make a wonderful memento.
  4. One really nice thing about a crossing is that you get to meet the guest speakers. They do book signings, hold Q&A sessions -- and as they are also passengers, you tend to see them about the ship. I had a number of wonderful conversations with a guest lecturer during our crossing a few years ago... a memory to last a lifetime.
  5. Yes, if I'm ever on Sovereign of the Seas, Deck 10 aft will have new meaning. Excellent show. I can't wait for the next installment.
  6. glojo, one way to find out is to compare the old deck plan to the new deck plan. I did this for Norwegian Majesty a few years ago. It was tedious to sit there and count cabins, yet it worked. Look for symbols such as elevators and stairs for frame of reference. I did this before getting onto the ship -- yes, I know I can be a bit strange. Great photos, Jason. Thanks for sharing.
  7. I'm with those that would ignore something that has no effect on others, and would find security personnel for something more serious. Keith -- I love the elevator story. Thumbs up!
  8. Welcome aboard, Cruznut2/Laura!
  9. Welcome aboard, JoeyandDavid! Looking forward to getting to know you better. Your upcoming cruises sound wonderful!
  10. Still a beauty. I remember how proud I was to be onshore, see SS Norway anchored in the distance, and think, "That one's MY ship."
  11. Skipper, what was it like when they were filming? Were there certain areas off-limits? So that I'm not hijacking the thread, I'll add another movie -- Out to Sea , filmed on HAL's Westerdam (I think), and Queen Mary was used as well.
  12. Congratulations on the booking and on your short countdown!
  13. Thanks, all. It's nice to have it paid off before we go. Next step... documents!
