  1. Welcome home sailingrose. Looking forward to more of your comments when you have a chance to post them. We have not yet sailed on Voyager/Explorer, etc. Maybe someday.
  2. Bon voyage, bogeesbrew! Enjoy Norwegian Sea!
  3. I'm noticing more out-of-control kids and invisible parents everywhere, not just on cruise ships.
  4. Great review. Thanks for sharing. Did Royal Caribbean book your air for you? If they did, that could explain why your seats weren't together. We've been there ourselves...
  5. One of the aspects I loved on our Cunard crossing was the variety of guest speakers. On our crossing, we had a BBC news reporter, a renowned maritime historian, and a couple of others. Something for everyone, as they say.
  6. We're about to book a cruise that is 14 months away. We are doing it so early as it is a popular route, we need a cabin for three, and the prices are very reasonable now. Another advantage in your case, as you are traveling with a group of family members, is that you'll have a better chance of getting cabins that are near each other. As JohnG said, all you'll need to pay now is the deposit. The final payment comes anywhere from 60 to 90 days prior to the cruise itself. Another cost you might have to consider now is cruise cancellation and interruption insurance, if you need to get the pre-existing condition waiver. Congratulations on your son's upcoming wedding!
  7. Wishing you a Bon Voyage on one of my favorite ships!
  8. Congratulations on the docs! It won't be long now...
  9. Thank you for the review, gymbrat33. I agree with you about the number of port calls. Unless it's Alaska or Canada/New England, I also prefer fewer ports and more ship.
  10. Great photos -- thank you for the link! It looks like she's got a couple of large butterflies on deck.
  11. We took a plantation tour while we were there. This was years ago, so I don't recall too many details. Yet, I remember we were given a tour of the plantation on an open-air bus, and we got to see many different types of vegetation, including baby bananas. Once that part of the tour was over, we were invited to the pool, where they had a wonderful buffet set up for us. We had plantains, fresh coconut, jerk chicken --- wow, I guess my memory is better than I thought.
